Uchi wa Mou, Enki Dekinai - That was a great endingNov 23, 2025, 1:10:11 PM

I finished reading Uchi wa Mou, Enki Dekinai, and as promised, here’s a final post to close out my coverage of this visual novel. You can check the previous write-up on this page, since I’ll assume you already know the general premise.

As I mentioned before, I only had two heroine routes left: Chisa and Sayaka (the latter unlocks after completing all the others as some sort of final route for the story). Both routes were enjoyable, although their focus and tone were very different.

The full cast

Chisa’s route is closer to a “standard” visual novel romance. She’s initially reluctant to date Masashi due to the age difference, but she slowly warms up to the idea, especially after he helps her through a tough deadline. The usual dating and icha-icha follow. It is not the most thrilling route in the game, but it is solid and well written.

Sayaka’s route on the other hand is noticeably shorter, which felt a bit disappointing considering she is such an important character. However, the content itself is quite good. The story revolves around recovering from a mistake that caused “Mamazon” (you can imagine who) to fail handling preorders, forcing the company to delay their newest game right after announcing it.

Teasing
Drunk and hot

Sayaka takes this failure very personally and starts doubting herself, especially after the predictable online backlash. With Masashi’s support she regains her confidence and decides to use the extra time to add a completely new route to the game to win back fan trust. This naturally results in painful overtime for the rest of the staff.

The VN ends with Sayaka jokingly suggesting that they should make a visual novel about an eroge company and all the disasters that happen during development. Everyone immediately rejects the idea saying it hits too close to home, but they all eventually agree that the perfect title would be… “Uchi wa Mou, Enki Dekinai.”

Totally a good girl
Those looks so soft!

After giving it some thought, I think my favorite heroine in the whole game is Sakakibara Ai. Her design, mischievous personality, and chaotic energy were absolute highlights for me, and she’s the character I remember most vividly. If I had to rank the routes, I’d go with: Ai > Karin > Sayaka > Miku > Chisa.

Studio Sonora did an excellent job with the production. The art is gorgeous, the voice acting is perfectly matched to the characters, and the writing flows smoothly enough that time disappears without you noticing. I’m definitely interested in trying more of their works. There were even a few cameos from other Sonora heroines in this VN, so I might explore those next.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

I can easily recommend Uchi wa Mou, Enki Dekinai if you want a light, enjoyable read with a fun look at how visual novels are made from the developers’ perspective. It’s not groundbreaking, but it is absolutely solid and pretty charming from start to finish.
