Arknights Endfield 1.5 Typhoeus Side Story - She's so beautiful and small!
Patch 1.5 of Arknights Endfield has arrived, and it looks to be another relatively minor filler patch focused on establishing new concepts that will be used in subsequent zones after Wuling. It seems like they are following the same approach that Genshin Impact did in the past, name-dropping the new zone early to build up hype.
The story itself was centered around Typhoeus, a beautiful and very small operator from Rhodes Island. She's a Sarkaz like Iino, Mi Fu, and Camille, and honestly, I'm surprised by how many playable characters of this race we're getting one after another. Four of the banners since launch have featured them.

In order to find Andre, Endmin ventures into a mysterious forest where it's extremely easy to lose your way. As she's trying to find the way out, she encounters Typhoeus, who starts helping her, and together they work on solving the mystery and deactivating the seal imprisoning them there.
The progression is a lot better than what we got with Iino's story, and for once I can say I'm happy with it. They even added new battle mechanics (shields on enemies) and a whole new boss on top of that! It was a bit on the short side, but I guess that can't be helped with filler patches.

The patch also added a new, snow-covered zone in Wuling where the story takes place. It presents a striking contrast compared to the environments we've gotten so far, and it's by far more beautiful than the other Wuling areas. It feels more like an RPG, you know?
There was also a new minigame with Typhoeus using her bow to destroy incoming missiles or break seals. I don't think that will return after this story, but it was fun to find the right positioning to hit all the targets at once. It was nothing too complicated, so it didn't break the flow of the story.

Now it'll be a long wait because, apparently, we're not getting a new character in the second half, which means no new story either. With 43 days until we get something new, I guess it's time to start working on finalizing the equipment for all the characters I have, starting with Typhoeus. I'm going to try her out in a team alongside Arcana, Gilberta, and Iino for max Arts damage.
