Deatte Hitotsuki de Zecchou Jorei Vol 11 - Aoi is a saint? Final battle incoming!
As promised, I've read Volume 11 of the light novel series Deatte Hitotsuki de Zecchou Jorei! (出会ってひと突きで絶頂除霊), which we discussed in a previous post. The series is nearly complete, and since this is the penultimate volume, the stakes are getting higher. However, the series doesn't really forget its origins of being a ecchi romantic comedy series.
The story continues from where we left off, with Karasuma Aoi being kidnapped from the group by a Saint. Apparently, she is a candidate to become the "First Saint", the purest and most powerful of all Saints who allows Seraphim to descend into her body. Yes, this is the same perverted Aoi who loves to bind other girls like herself. Shocking, I know.
Aoi's backstory is finally revealed. She was born in Armenia (Europe) and lived most of her life confined in a facility where she was trained to become a Saint. This meant she had no access to anything remotely erotic or entertaining. Although she was considered a failure, she was kept in the facility "just in case," which caused her a great deal of grief. Eventually, she managed to escape to Japan with the help of Haruhisa's foster father.

Haruhisa and the other girls are worried sick that something might happen to her, so they ask Kaede's grandma if there is a way to reach her. She says there won't be a need because Europe needs Haruhisa. Or rather, they need his hands, specifically the power of the Succubus King, to exorcise the final part of the Succubus King. They negotiate to allow the group (Haruhisa, Souya, Kaede, and Sakura) to meet Aoi in exchange for his help.
To remind those who may have forgotten, there are nine parts that make up the Succubus King. Souya has the Eyes; Haruhisa has the Hands, Horns, and Mouth; and Azazel (the demon trying to revive the Succubus King) has the Legs, Breasts, Womb, and Butt. The final missing part was found in Europe. Once all of them are merged into a single host, they can be used to revive the Succubus King, which is exactly what the characters are trying to prevent.
Many old characters return in this volume, such as Sheila, who works as a guide for the team in Europe. She has her own ulterior motives, mainly getting close to Haruhisa because she likes him, and not even Souya is able to stop her. Souya tries to expose Sheila's fetishes using the Eyes, but Sheila is so innocent and pure that there was basically nothing compromising in her data.
Haruhisa...what do you have on your hands? *staring intensifies*Once they arrive at the castle where Aoi is being held, we learn that the final part is inside the body of the country's princess. The issue is that the princess is not willing to give it up because she is angry. Understandably, she lived her whole life hiding her true thoughts and desires to become the host of the Seraphim, only to be replaced by Aoi. A battle ensues in which we see the powers of the final part (time manipulation) before eventually sealing it within Haruhisa.
I really loved how the princess used some of her other skills to force the characters to shout out their innermost desires. While Haruhisa’s desires were ultra-tame things like "getting a lap pillow from a girl I like", the three girls all shouted extreme things that you wouldn't want anyone to hear.
Once the final part is sealed, the Saints all turn against Haruhisa after receiving orders from the gods. They believe that killing Haruhisa diminishes the risk of the Succubus King reviving, as killing the host makes the parts disappear for a certain number of years, giving them time to prepare. A huge battle follows, with Haruhisa and the girls trying to escape from the Saints and their armies. Kaede even suggests (such a good girl) faking being Haruhisa to lead them away, basically dying in the process. However, this triggers Haruhisa's rage, as he would rather die than lose her.

Just when everything seems lost, most of the old enemies from previous volumes (the paranormal terrorists) arrive to help and start causing havoc among the Saints. They were sent by the Ten Clans (Kaede's grandma) to avoid having to intervene personally, which could possibly cause a worldwide war.
Thanks to their help, the group manages to escape long enough for Aoi to become a Saint, making the Seraphim descend and put a stop to the battle once and for all. Aoi seems happy and ready to start binding the Seraphim, but unfortunately, it turns out he is male, much to her disappointment.
The volume ends with Mihoto (the spirit inside Haruhisa) absorbing the last part. She finally recovers the information from her memories regarding the location where all the parts can be destroyed permanently. This triggers everyone to prepare for the inevitable final battle to recover the other parts and destroy them for good.

Admittedly, it has been two years since I read the previous volume of this novel. While my memories still held the feeling that "this is fun", it didn't even compare to the utterly absurd and fun developments the author manages to cram into a single volume.
While the overarching Succubus King storyline is interesting, I'm stoked to see what is going to happen on the romantic side of the story. Souya is a huge pervert and a good main heroine, but I'm a huge Kaede fan for both her looks and her personality. I would really love for her to get her happy ending. As I mentioned in the past, a harem ending is fine too, isn't it?
I look forward to reading the last volume in the coming weeks, and I'll make a final post to complete my coverage of the series soon.
