Devil-chi Vol 5,6 - Archangel on earth? Clearly Hino's mom isn't it?

Volumes 5 and 6 of Devilchi continue right where we left off, with Yomina being kidnapped by a high-ranking angel while Sumomo attempts to keep the other pursuers from catching Hino. The previous volume didn't explain much as to why this assault happened in the first place, but now the motives are clear.

Some of the rogue angels wanted a promotion by "erasing a potential risk to the world," while others sought an audience with one of the archangels to cure their cursed sister. Naturally, the entire scheme falls apart thanks to Mikako and Rie intervening, saving Sumomo from death, and defeating the bulk of the hostile angels.

In reality, though, even in the aftermath of the battle, I'm still not entirely sure how angelic society actually functions. These culprits attempted to murder an angel, a human, and two demons, and their only punishment was "house arrest for a few days and having your angelic powers revoked." That's it? Sure, this is a lighthearted teen series, but come on...

Then we get the full exposition regarding the truth behind Yomina's power: it's the stereotypical dilemma I've seen in other series like Shuffle!. Yomina was born with immense magical potential and no natural outlet to release it, meaning that if left unchecked, her power will detonate and doom the entire world. Certain pills can temporarily suppress this buildup, but the only permanent solution is revealed by Mikako.

Yomina growing more and more horny as the realization sits in. I wasn't expecting her to change this much.

What is the solution? Well, apparently it requires having multiple children with the person contracted to her, who happens to be Hino. The characters offer various mystical justifications, but it's really just an excuse to ramp up the ecchi tension between them, isn't it? Naturally, it can't happen immediately, so the story stalls with the excuse that their childhood contract was left incomplete, meaning it will only work if their current feelings for each other are as pure and strong as they were back then.

This sets up a dangerous dilemma: proceed anyway and risk death if the ritual fails, or search for an alternative solution? Conveniently, that alternative appears to be right in front of their eyes. Circling back to the archangel mentioned earlier, it is said that she possesses the unique power to purge curses, and she abandoned her celestial title to live on Earth and marry a human. Currently, nobody knows where she is.

Mikako and Rie looks amazing in battle, quite a change from what we've seen so far.

The dreams given by Yomina are quite extreme in a way? Hino seems to enjoy them though.

Coincidentally, Hino possesses the innate ability to cleanse curses, though he doesn't understand where it comes from. The characters don't think much of it, but can't we put two and two together and deduce that he is half-angel, half-human, and the son of that missing archangel? Come on, it has to be connected.

Either way, the narrative focus has now shifted toward Yomina's personal problem. She seems to be growing increasingly flustered and lustful now that she knows the final solution, combined with her reluctance to rely on the suppression pills. What is going to happen to Hino? And are other factions going to target Yomina in the future?
