Honey Trap Shared House Vol 7,8 - Seraphy as a teacher? Now that's...

Volumes 7 and 8 of Honey Trap Shared House continue the all-girls school storyline right where we left off, with Hayato facing a mysterious Japanese girl who is clearly a honey trap, though we had no idea which faction she actually belonged to among the many occupying this series.

Well, it turns out she was not from any official secret agency, but from the unaffiliated organization Cthulhu, currently led by the mysterious John Bider, who uses various codenames based on the Cthulhu Mythos. They are recurring antagonists and seem to be the only real trouble Hayato has to face, considering the other agencies are not actively fighting each other yet.

You often forget how stacked Hyoka is because of Maria being around, but she's one of the most stunning among the girls.

Maria is low on my ranking, but she managed to get back some points with the backstory in these volumes.

The real question is what their endgame actually is. The woman (the teacher) who served as the agent this time was interested in controlling the school, but I can't see how this connects to world conquest or all the grand things John Bider told Hayato a few volumes back.

Asha was confirmed as a recurring heroine and pretty much joined the shared house permanently. She's hilarious because she is completely weak compared to the others, and her attempts to impress often backfire, like when she challenged Seraphy to a strength contest and got defeated in seconds.

Seraphy continues to be the best even if she was really neglected in these volumes with a lack of important roles.

Maid Dorothy continues to impress, she's stealing all the aura out of Emily!

The second half of the story moves away from the school and enters the idol world, where Hyouka is invited and ends up in one of those sleazy situations involving powerful men using their positions to abuse women. Not that it would work on her, considering Hayato was recording everything and could blackmail them at any time.

The issue is that, while leaving, they got attacked by a mysterious masked individual. The victim uttered the name Cthulhu before dying, which once again ties back to these antagonists who seem to be pretty much everywhere. What is the best way to take them out and solve the crisis?

Swimsuits are great, but somehow they feel plain after all the stuff the girls pull out normally during the story

Turns out it's the classic story of Maria being misunderstood as a boy from Hayato. A classic really!

Of course, it's for all of our heroines to become idols and for Hayato to become their manager. Yeah, we're going in that direction, and the volume ends on a cliffhanger with the girls about to start their (most likely very short) idol careers. I honestly can't wait to see what Seraphy will do...
