Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Ep.06 - No, you're still bad Mana!

Episode 6 of Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS: Gun Blaze Vengeance goes deep into explaining how the relationship between Shinomiya Mana and Kuragi Eiji came to be and sets up the stage for the confrontation between her and the group of main heroines protecting the world.

Apparently Shinomiya Mana is similar to Kuze Setsuna in the way that she isn't a human that became a Majin, but rather a parasitic invader taking over the body of a girl after some incident. She is fully alien and refers to her host in separate terms as if talking about something extraneous.

This scene was ultra cute, but at the same time it felt so weirdly too fast. Like Towa and Shiina only met twice and they're already cuddling?!

I have lots of problems with Mana, but her choice of surrounding with beautiful girls? That's golden instead! Good choices there!

She referred to being defeated by a much more powerful majin, which is a good lead-in to a future higher boss once she's inevitably defeated and killed. I say killed because honestly they made no attempt to try and justify her actions. She's an alien and doesn't care about anything other than herself and maybe Eiji.

Eiji himself was found in a spot either dying or submitting to Mana, but over time he became more and more disconnected from reality to the point that he admits he only really cares about pleasing Mana. I'm guessing him dying before Mana could be a nice trigger to see the face of Mana warp after realizing loss for the first time.

Mana really give me conflicting feelings, she's utterly evil, but her character design is so cute. It's a shame really! A shame! View video page

For the rest we get a good cuddling scene between Towa and Shiina that surely activated my yuri sensor, but at the same time felt a bit weird because the two girls only met like a few times at best and somehow they're already that close to start cuddling in public and talking like that? I'm not complaining, but...

Nanoha and Fate took a backseat this week which is sad, but I'm sure they'll be back now that things are getting heated again. I do believe this series is just trying to use their popularity to carry their own story though which is kind of disrespectful, but you know money is money and...

Now I'm imagining them as lost puppies and it's just the cutest thing ever. I hope at the end they just decide to live together forever...

Mana was preserved quite well after the time skip, but Eiji? Damn he went really old quickly to the point he's barely recognizeable.

Next episode we'll finally see what happens when Towa and Shiina are faced with the fact that they're both majin of different factions. Will there be huge drama or will it be a smooth transition to the next stage of their relationship? Hopefully they can ally to fight against the true enemies of the world.
