Mayonaka Heart Tune Ep.09 - Iko wet herself! Momotose Ao, new character?!

March 3, 2026 · 3:34 PM

Episode 9 of Mayonaka Heart Tune is back to focusing on one heroine per episode, as expected. Last week, it was Nene and her acting issues. This week, the focus is on Iko and her VTuber career, and it was another fantastic episode full of funny scenes between Iko and Yamabuki.

After learning about another VTuber's popularity, Iko began fretting over her own progress and started doing strange things on stream to attract attention (like creating a full detailed 3D model of herself with full jiggling animation). Of course, it backfires badly, so Yamabuki steps in to reassure her and guide her on the path toward stardom.

Did you hear Iko everyone? She did wet herself, it's public and official now! *becomes an enigmata follower*

On this I can agree with Yamabuki, Iko's voice is amazing and that's the most important part of being a vtuber.

The idea is simple: secure a collaboration stream with a more popular VTuber to gain exposure, potentially winning over some of her viewers and building a larger fan base. It is a basic concept, but the idea is solid. I agree with Yamabuki that the most important quality for a VTuber is their voice.

I only follow two VTubers occasionally (Meimei Himari and Satou Anime), primarily because I really like their voices. It does not matter if there are more talented creators performing complicated scenarios; if the voice does not click, I am simply not interested.

I saved video evidence of the Iko wetting incident, this way there's no way she can deny the truth that every one of us knows! View video page

The initial attempt to secure a collaboration failed, but the resulting viral moment (the infamous "wetting" incident) made her popular enough to attract the attention of the top voice actress, Momotose Ao. Ao invites Iko to a stream where she is paired with a couple of other VTubers for a gaming competition.

Iko fails, and that seems to be the end of it, but Momotose Ao calls her afterward. She apologizes for pairing her with "joke" VTubers and extends a future invitation to both Iko and her "manager". It seems Ao noticed Yamabuki's presence through Iko's actions and has become interested in him.

Momotose Ao seems like is an high school girl, is she at the same school? Is she going to be more regular?

The reaction faces of Iko during this episode were pure golden. Saved a bunch of them.

At this point, that is all we know about her and her appearance (see the screenshot above), but this is an interesting development as she is the first new character introduced since Lemon a few weeks ago. I wonder if she is a fellow student at this high school as well?

Iko has really been growing on me as a heroine and is currently at the top of my rankings, but the competition is still wide open. Nene is a close second, and Rikka is also a very interesting character. Uzuki is the plainest so far, though she is still very enjoyable.

If things follow the previous pattern, next week will focus on Uzuki and her struggle to become an announcer, leaving Rikka for the finale. I am honestly very excited about this series, and I will definitely start reading the manga as soon as the anime finishes airing because I want to see how the story continues.
