Onee-chan wa Game wo Suruto Hito ga Kawaru Vol 5 - Chihiro and Yuuna's mom?!

That's Narmaya from Granblue Fantasy, isn't it?! Okay, sorry, let me restart from scratch. Volume 5 of Oneechan wa Game wo Suru to Hito ga Kawaru introduces a series of new recurring characters that managed to refresh the formula of the series and keep my interest in it alive.

Both are mothers: one is Yuuna's mother (the Narmaya lookalike that I mentioned before) and the other is Chihiro's mother. Yuuna's mother looks like this, but then I started to make some calculations, and things started to make less sense the more I delved into the actual numbers.

My first reaction to Yuuna's mother was 'why is Narmaya entering this other universe?'. The similarity is uncanny.

This is the character Chihiro designed that, according to her, reflect her body style perfectly. There is certainly something off, but can't tell what...

It is confirmed in this episode that Yuuna was a child (8-10 years old) 20 years before the beginning of the series, putting her age at around 28-30, which fits considering her character and backstory as a software engineer. Then I thought, okay, her mother must be at least 16-18 years older, which puts her at 44-48 years old.

How does she look that hot at that age? She's clearly not a human, but a spirit of some kind! I know this is not a magical series, but I can't justify it in any other reasonable way. I'm less surprised about Chihiro's mother looking good because Chihiro is a teen, so her mother would be in her early 30s.

How will they manage to escape that room?! There's only one way, but will Toshitake survive five girls at the same time?!

Both characters work great in making things more interesting because, all of a sudden, Yuuna, who was supposedly the adult in the room, becomes a child when interacting with her mother. Chihiro's mother's teasing of Toshitake, creating jealousy in Chihiro, is also welcome, as it makes their relationship move a bit forward.

They appeared in multiple sketches over the volume, so I'm hoping they're regulars, but we will see because, for example, Chihiro's friends were completely absent from this volume. Hopefully, the author will manage to juggle things in the right way to give everyone enough screen time.

Mother and daughter clearly share a lot in common, but I'm still amazed at Yuuna's mother style!

Just look how adorable she look. How is it possible that she's a woman in her mid-40?! Unbelievable!

I know I got lured multiple times into the trap left by the next volume preview, but let's try it again. The preview itself shows Toshitake stuck in a room with the five girls (Chihiro, Yuuna, Hime, Chihiro's mother, and Yuuna's mother) and the rules to exit it are unclear (though obviously ecchi-focused). Will our Toshitake survive?!
