Episode 02 of Ponkotsu Fuuki Iin to Skirt-take ga Futekisetsu na JK no Hanashi (often abbreviated as Ponkotsu Skirt or PonSuka) continues with a strong delivery that didn't give me time to get bored, introducing a few new characters while further developing relationships with the existing ones.

The first character introduced is Tsukishima Seiichi, a member of the student library committee. Apparently, all the committee members at this school are weird, which I can understand considering what we have seen with Tougo (discipline) and Yuu (infirmary). Seiichi is no different; he is handsome and acts flirty with every girl he sees, including Poemu.

Poemu's mother bring the goods to school. She's going to destroy Poemu's reputation at this point.

Rui and Motoko easily jump in the fun with the comedy. Amazing side characters to be honest.

This might seem like enough, but under his facade of friendliness, he is actually quite dark, enjoying teasing Poemu and playing with her. I like how all the characters are distinct and well-defined, to the point where you can easily remember them even though we have only seen them for two episodes: Tougo (strict, serious, inflexible) and Yuu (hotheaded, energetic, unreasonable).

The second character is Poemu's mother (unnamed as of now), who is a true force of nature. She is the "ara ara" type of anime woman, always lighthearted, always smiling, and very often with her eyes closed. She brings a lunch box to Poemu during a scene, which is the first time we see Poemu on the defensive against her mother's innocent attacks.

The dub provided by Motoko is the perfect way to represent Poemu's feelings. Just admit it already Poemu, you're interested in Tougo! View video page

She talks about how much Poemu loved Precure when she was a child and all the other embarrassing things that parents love to bring up whenever their kids are around their friends. Apparently, she is very close to Rui and Motoko, and they often go to Poemu's house to hang out.

The plot? Who needs a plot when you can have plenty of comedy? The series doesn't really try to establish anything consistent in terms of an overall story, but it still manages to move the narrative, with each scene slowly adding more depth to the characters and their motivations.

Admittedly that's ultra cute. It's the kind of scene that makes me want to head pat Poemu all day.

Poemu is relatively easy to please to be honest. Not that it's a fault, I love this part of her.

For example, the scene where Tougo is referred to as a friend by Poemu, Rui, and Motoko was quite nice. Rui and Motoko have essentially accepted him as Poemu's "stable boyfriend," even though they aren't actually dating yet. I am curious to see which other characters are left to be introduced.
