Toshie and Ran were good too! Now reveal!
I've been playing through it and I'm close to Mashiro's reveal, which marks the real beginning of the story. We already got Mifuyu's introduction (no Yumina yet), but I think the most impactful characters so far have been Ran-chan-sensei and Takayama Toshie. The former is an archaeologist and the protagonist's teacher. She is the classic instructor beloved by her students, yet at the same time, nobody takes her seriously, constantly addressing her by nicknames.
The other is on the school's board of directors; apparently, they don't have a single principal, but several administrators working together. The thing is, she is way too attractive, to the point where I wonder why she never made the cut for a side route or something of that sort. I'd love for that to be an option in the fandisc, but I'm too scared of spoilers to actually open the page and check. I guess I'll find out after 30+ hours of gameplay.
I've also been impressed by the amount of subtle animation here and there. The production value was quite high for its time, surpassing even visual novels released a decade later. Lump of Sugar really delivered quality work here.
