Chaos Zero Nightmare - Chizuru story was good, but the cliffhanger...Dec 5, 2025, 8:01:16 PM

Finally managed to give a look at the latest chapter of the Chaos Zero Nightmare event story, which finally properly introduced Chizuru (who served as a sort of antagonist in the previous chapter) with her backstory alongside her release as a playable character.

I already rolled for her and I have to say her play style is quite interesting, especially if she is put together with Tressa and Rei in a void team. I still need to farm all her upgrades though, and I don't really have enough stamina, so it will be a while before I can fully use her.

The story continues from where we left it last time with the protagonist, Yuki, Renoa and the others chasing Chizuru to the base of Kaguya Pharmaceutical. The protagonist gets kidnapped, though, which actually manages to secure a one-to-one talk with Chizuru that allows her to explain her intentions.

Amazing art, but her look still feels out of place.
Wait, who are you guys?

This was kind of needed considering how aggressive Yuki would get against her due to the theft and how much Renoa would sulk. Renoa sulking whenever the protagonist talks with any other female is becoming a bit of a running gag, but I hope she changes in the future because it can get tiring in the long term.

Apparently, Chizuru fought against a great monster and failed to destroy it. In order to avoid a calamity, she decided to seal the monster within her own body, which is the reason for the weird bindings she wears (well, that and the developers using that excuse for sex appeal, but that is a different story, haha).

She made a pact with Kaguya Pharmaceutical to help them in exchange for support in keeping the monster at bay. Now that she found us though, she thinks we are the key to destroying the monster for good and wants our support in exchange for returning the item she stole earlier. The sudden switch from "cold" to "you are the only one" kind of made me roll my eyes, but you know... suspension of disbelief.

Nice costume!
Oh, so that's the reason...riiiight!

It seems like there is something in our blood, but they don't give enough details to fully understand what they are talking about yet. Together we go to the Kaguya Pharmaceutical base and, after convincing the leader, she brings us to the hidden secret of the base and... that is where the story ends with a cliffhanger and a note saying that the third part will be released in 19 days.

I can't say I am a fan of this drip-feeding content, especially as the story of this event isn't exactly big enough to justify splitting it into three parts. We are talking about roughly three hours between chapter 1 and chapter 2, so I am guessing the third chapter will be similar.

Nurses are great!
Ahahah, huge!

Either way, I am looking forward to the final part and finally seeing where they want to take us with this story. I heard rumors that they wanted to remake some of the earlier chapters of the main story, and I am worried that means we won't get new chapters until that is done.
