Chaos Zero Nightmare S2 Part 2 - Tiphera and Tiana. What is that egg?!
Tiphera has been released in Chaos Zero Nightmare, along with the second part of the Season 2 story. The narrative continues from where we left off, with Renoa’s group and Nine’s group meeting up. After clearing up a minor misunderstanding, they join forces to pursue the real criminals at the facility on the desert planet.
The group quickly moves to find evidence that human experimentation was commonplace in this facility. A significant detail is that we encounter the mysterious girl who appeared in Protos’s mind to save him back in the first chapter. She is currently terrified and appears to be one of the slaves held there.

This version of her conflicts with her proud, healthy-looking appearance in the previous chapter, which seems to link to her earlier lines regarding time manipulation. She was essentially communicating with Protos before she was even saved by him. It will be interesting to see how the narrative connects these points.
Tiphera is introduced as a proud member of the Empire, which places her in a difficult position since her faction collaborated with the criminals responsible for the suffering on the planet. The game continues to explore themes similar to the trolley problem, as the Empire is forced to choose the lesser of two evils to ensure the lowest number of casualties.

While no one doubts that Tiphera is good at heart and a friendly character, the word "Empire" usually warrants caution. It is generally a red flag for something that turns out to be sinister later in the story. It is simply one of those unwritten rules of anime-style games storytelling.
The chapter ends as the group enters the core area, nearing the so-called divinity of the location. Renoa notes that the Chaos presence increases as they approach, casting doubt on the "divinity" aspect that Rico emphasized in their talk about it. Is this divinity actually just a Chaos core, or something else entirely?

We also get a brief glimpse of Tiana, who is Tiphera’s younger sister and the reason for her journey. She appears on screen holding an egg beside a massive monster. Her eyes seem vacant, as if she is being controlled, leaving me to wonder what exactly is happening. These entities do not look like Chaos, but they certainly do not seem friendly either.
Now the wait begins for this banner to end so we can access the third part of the story. Tiphera appears to be a strong Order character, so my plan is to focus on building her up and farming some decks. I might do the same for Nine as well, as I have yet to put together a truly effective deck for him.
