Danger in my heart - Anna is stunning! The series is so heartwarming.

In the last few days, I’ve been working my way through the second season of Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu (The Dangers in My Heart), and honestly, it’s been an absolute delight and one of the best anime series I've ever watched. It's a shame I didn't actually watch this week by week.

Every single episode manages to melt my heart to the point where I have to pause just to recover from how sweet it all is. It’s one of those rare shows that perfectly captures the innocence and awkwardness of young love, and it never fails to make me smile.

Anna Yamada is just way too charming. Like, really though, they did an amazing job in designing her.Anna Yamada is just way too charming. Like, really though, they did an amazing job in designing her.

As you probably know, the story follows two middle schoolers, Anna Yamada and Kyotaro Ichikawa, as their relationship gradually develops throughout their school life. The series slowly introduces more characters as the story goes on, but the focus remains centered around Anna and Kyotaro.

What starts off as a simple friendship slowly evolves into something deeper, and watching them navigate their feelings is both heartwarming and painfully relatable. It's that level of awkwardness that makes it feel great, how both don't really know how to express their emotions.

Whenever Anna pouts it shows more of her childish side which grounds her down compared to the glamorous looks.Whenever Anna pouts it shows more of her childish side which grounds her down compared to the glamorous looks.

Anna is tall, cheerful, and full of energy, an incredibly kind girl who stands out in every room she’s in and works as a model. Kyotaro, on the other hand, is small, shy, and deeply insecure, constantly comparing himself to others and feeling like he doesn’t deserve her attention.

This contrast between them creates so many touching and sometimes frustrating moments that make you root for them even harder. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve muttered, “Just go out already!” while watching, but that slow build-up is part of what makes the series so special.

And Anna needs grounding because just look at her. That's top model material. And Anna needs grounding because just look at her. That's top model material.

The supporting cast adds even more warmth to the show. Their friends are genuinely good people who encourage and tease them in equal measure, giving the story that pure, nostalgic feeling of youth—an innocence that can only really exist in middle school.

I really like the interactions between Kyotaro and his sister Kana during the series. They do give more of a natural type of siblings compared to what we usually see in anime series. Supporting each other yes, but also teasing each other a lot. You know how it works.

Now I’m down to the last two episodes, and I can’t help but wonder how it’ll all wrap up. Will we get a proper conclusion to Anna and Kyotaro’s story, or is there a chance for a third season in the future?
