Fate/Strange Fake Ep.05 - Who is "Makkuro"-san? So that's how they controlled him...

Episode 5 of Fate/Strange Fake continues by slowly introducing new elements and twists to the story. We return to Sigma, and it seems the entity he contracted with is not a Servant at all. It was supposed to be a Lancer class servant, but what actually arrived was something completely different.

They defined themselves as a "Watcher" class, but I have honestly never heard of a class like that in any part of the Fate franchise I have played or read about. I guess it is just something they decided on as a way to identify themselves, but what exactly are the skills they can use? They don't seem to be a fighting class, at least judging from the encounter with Assassin, so the human Sigma has to do the heavy lifting.

Francesca remains the highlight of the series with her trickster personality making everyone dance to her tune.

Cute little girl, who exactly is your servant? And why did you ask for something so easy to misinterpret by him?!

They also explained exactly how the hero Heracles, who is supposed to be a protector of humanity, ended up in the dark form we saw last week fighting against Gilgamesh and Hippolyta. It seems Francesca Prelati is, of course, involved. I feel like most of the series is basically her having fun at this point, not that I am complaining.

She provided the black mud of the Fuyuki Grail to Heracles's Master, who used it to corrupt him enough to trigger his hatred for the gods and cause him to become "something different." They haven't specified if his Class Saint Graph actually changed as a result of this, but it is a safe assumption that he is now an Avenger.

I have to say that it must be nice to be Francesca Prelati. She seems to be enjoying anything that happens, people dream of being able to be that happy in their life... View video page

The reason for his supernatural strength, which is well beyond the realm of normal Servants, is also explained by the human sacrifices his Master performed in recent years to accumulate "batteries." It is a grander-scale version of what Kirei did in Fate/stay night by feeding people to Gilgamesh.

In the next episode, I can honestly see Sigma allying with Ayaka and Richard. He doesn't seem hostile toward people who have no will to fight, and considering everyone is downright overpowered, the best idea is to settle and form an alliance to fight against the rest. Maybe they can pull someone else like Assassin into it, because her goal is really to murder the Vampire Master rather than to win the Grail.

He has the "protagonist" face or am I seeing it wrong here?

Believe me! I can fix her! She's just a bit...special!

Also, what was the "makkuro" that was talking with the child at the hospital? The only class remaining is Rider, but that didn't exactly seem like a Rider. Flat seems to be overly scared of it, so it must be something dangerous, as if we didn't have enough trouble already between all these calamities.
