FX Senshi Kurumi-chan Ep.06 - Mebuki, stop the trades! Not you too!
Episode 6 of FX-Senshi Kurumi-chan delivers another traumatic installment, showcasing Mebuki's complete descent into chaos. I was wrong, and I admit it: I had speculated she would be the golden child who always wins, torturing everyone else with her unearned success, but it turns out the pain spared no one after all.
After Kurumi decided to sit on the sidelines of a trade because it was too risky, Mebuki convinced herself that she understood how the market worked. She threw everything into a staggering 246x leverage trade, an utterly terrifying position that could trigger a margin call at any second from a tiny fluctuation.

And the margin call did happen, wiping out her entire initial capital. What would any sensible person do in that situation? Cut their losses and learn from the mistake, you say? Absolutely not: you double down, of course. That is exactly what Mebuki did, and now she is on the absolute brink of losing her entire scholarship fund.
They cut the episode right as the second margin call was about to hit. My expectation is that the chart will reverse at the very last second, because otherwise I don't see how Mebuki can ever recover from this. Borrow money from the other girls? I wouldn't trust her with a single yen, to be honest...
Honestly speaking, Yasuko seems to be the most reasonable person in the group. She loses frequently, but always in manageable, small amounts, and she seems to be the only one who truly recognizes that what they are doing is completely insane. Of course, that doesn't mean she will stay that way forever, but I hope to see her remain a voice of reason.
I've said it many times, but watching this series can be genuinely agonizing. The clip I attached is a prime example: watching Mebuki spiral into madness, throwing good money after bad and getting enraged when the charts don't go her way, gives me intense secondhand embarrassment right through the screen.

Now the question is who the next victim will be, because Kurumi was also deep in the red on her own leveraged trade (-70,000 yen in the brief glimpse we got), yet she desperately tried to hide it from Mochiko. Pride is a dangerous thing; she refuses to be seen as weak or in distress.
