Grow Up Show: Himawari no Circus Ep.04 - Swimsuit episode! Imari magic show!

Episode 4 of Grow Up Show: Himawari no Circus, as expected, continues to explore the other members of the circus troupe, this time focusing on Agano Imari and Ikazuchi Isuzu, who can be defined as the third yuri couple of this series, even though the vibes are much lower than the other two.

The story is simple; the troupe gained a lot of money from the performance, but had to use it all to pay off debts, so they're completely empty again. Maria decides it's time to use the girls' bodies to gain money. What do I mean? Of course, it's part-time work at a seaside restaurant.

I can imagine the terror of having so many eyes all pointed at you, poor Imari. She didn't know what was coming.

Mizuka has a money shaped geass, what power will she possibly have?! I knew she was in some way connected to C.C. from Code Geass!

Yeah, it's a swimsuit episode, but the swimsuits themselves don't have too much of a presence compared to the characters; honestly, it could be considered even lighter than previous episodes when it comes to fanservice. This is especially true when considering that scene in the first episode with Ouka barging into the bathroom.

Imari's backstory involves trauma: her father made a mistake during a magic show that injured people, which led to her family breaking up and left her unable to perform magic shows herself. Mizuka helps her prepare a magic show on the beach, and, as you might expect, this helps reconcile her relationship with Isuzu as well.

They didn't forget about Ouka either, and Imari added a small segment to the show where Mizuka is forced to do some circus activity with Ouka to impress the viewers. Ouka's personality is becoming more and more like a "legal wife" to Mizuka, to the point that it doesn't feel weird anymore when she's always chasing Mizuka around.

So far, it's been an amazing run, and I wonder what the big "challenge" for Mizuka will be. Is it going to be a reunion with her dad, or will they keep focusing solely on the circus troupe? The series is anime original, so I would be a bit sad if they don't give enough visibility to every character...

Mizuka has the attitude when it comes to relating with adults, I guess that's something from having to live alone for so long.

Ouka is so amazingly choroi when it comes to Mizuka. They're not even hiding at this point, just get together already girls!

Judging from the small segment near the end with Akane complaining, the next episode might be about the two little ones from the troupe. I'm curious to see what their connection to the troupe will be, as they feel way too young to be alone without their parents.
