Grow Up Show: Himawari no Circus Ep.06 - Small Svetlana is cute! Mizuka?!
Episode 6 of Grow Up Show: Himawari no Circus honestly surprised me by how quickly we got to see the people directly connected to Mizuka's father's situation and how this is already becoming a threatening situation for Mizuka's future. The character they introduced is a buff, muscular, middle-aged guy named Aiden Mitscher, who is the partner of Mizuka's father.
He arrives at the circus and uses his fame and skills to get all the girls to follow him and put Mizuka in a bind, forcing her to decide on the spot about what to do. Yeah, I don't really like his approach, especially considering he's substantially taking over the job that her ridiculously horrible father was supposed to do in the first place.

Throwing a kid to the wolves, forcing her to stay with a circus group she doesn't know, putting her in debt, and then having the courage to send his partner to give her a lesson while not even having the face to present himself? I would probably slap him in the face and send him packing.
They hinted about why the breakup between the two happened, seemingly related to Mizuka's father breaking/stealing the place that she loved. I'm assuming it must be related to the circus group they were in originally. Hard to guess at this point, but it's pretty much guaranteed to be the focus of next week's episode.
This whole circus group itself is kind of a mystery, to be honest. Maria, despite being in debt and unable to even rent somewhere to perform, seems to have connections with a superstar of the circus world. Just who is she? She looks younger than most of the members, but maybe she has family connections?
Also, big disapproval for Ouka from me; she gave in to the lure of the superstar Aiden and betrayed Mizuka by performing with him. She'll need to work hard to recover that trust—you don't simply change your partner, girl! Joking aside, I'm curious where they go with Mizuka and Ouka. I'd love to see them cozy, but...

Next week should finish this story arc, but I feel it's too early for Mizuka to wholeheartedly join the circus and perform willingly. I know that's the end result, but obtaining it by the seventh episode means that the rest of the series loses the conflict within Mizuka, which was the driver of the series.
