Isekai Ojisan Vol 13,14 - Magatsu Koto no Nushi! Sawae Yumi seems to be a good addition.
Volumes 13 and 14 of Isekai Ojisan (異世界おじさん) conclude the story arc centered on Magatsu Koto no Nushi and return to the more laid-back content focused on the real world. To summarize the situation, Magatsu Koto no Nushi is an evil spirit that awakened from a millennium of sleep and began creating chaos after possessing Lilian’s body.
Apparently, the spirit (assuming female, though the original gender is never revealed) was someone summoned to this world just like Ojisan who ended up in this state after various betrayals and discoveries. Her personality was rotten, but I could not fully hate her, perhaps because she only took the forms of cute girls.

Maybelle stole the spotlight in Volume 13 by appearing with her sword when Ojisan could no longer fight. She protected everyone and even took the fight back to the enemy dragon with ease. She eventually failed after the dragon was revived by Magatsu Koto no Nushi, but it was still a major achievement for her nonetheless.
Of course, she was mostly trying hard to find a new job or a place to stay. Since this is Maybelle we are talking about, most of her motivations involve finding a place where she can eat, sleep, and preferably do nothing. She did find one, as she is now one of the Six Wings, and they treat her like a house cat. I wonder how long it will be before she escapes.

Another major revelation in these volumes is that there are no gods in this world. The entity that most of humanity reveres as a god is actually just the Life Spirit, who is somewhat annoyed by being treated like a deity. Apparently, there is a spirit for almost everything, suggesting that humans are not particularly special.
Back in the real world, Sawae Yumi, Sumika’s friend who appeared a few times before, seems to be becoming a recurring character who will be more present going forward. After a series of mistakes, the others reveal the nature of Ojisan’s magic to her, so she is now one of the few people who knows what truly happened.

I honestly enjoy it whenever Ojisan and Yumi talk, especially when Yumi acts proud of something common, like a Nintendo DS, due to Ojisan’s lack of knowledge about the modern world. We needed more regular characters in the real world anyway, as it has been just Ojisan, Sumika, and Takafumi for quite a while now.
These two volumes lacked visibility for the Tsundere Elf, who only really appeared in some of the omake sections. This allowed Alicia to regain quite a bit of ground in her relationship with Ojisan. The scene where Alicia comforts Ojisan after the battle was very nice. Of course, it ended with a comedic ecchi scene where Ojisan accidentally broke her clothes while she faked being asleep, but that is just how things go.

Now I am back in the waiting period because I have fully caught up with the released volumes. Thankfully, Volume 14 was released in September 2025, so we should be due for a new one within the next month or two. I cannot wait to see how the story in the other world develops from here.
