Jahy-sama ha Kujikenai (ジャヒー様はくじけない!) is a comedy/slice-of-life manga series written and illustrated by Wakame Konbu. It started back in 2017 and is currently ongoing with 12 volumes released. I have only read the first seven volumes so far, but I am currently in the process of catching up.
The story follows Jahy, the second-in-command of the Dark Realm. She finds herself powerless in the human world after the Demon Lord was defeated by a magical girl. Therefore, she has to find the basics to survive (food, shelter) while still chasing her dream of reviving the Demon Lord and returning to her life of excess in the Dark Realm.
Stunning Jahy is stunning!Due to losing her immense power, Jahy has shrunk into a small girl. This is a far cry from the glamorous body she had before, and she is easily mistaken for a kid by humans. She is helped to find a room to sleep in by a genuinely good woman called Chisa, who is the manager of a pub.
From there, you can expect a collection of amusing episodes with Jahy trying to regain her power and utterly failing for comedic effect. Of course, it is not like the series has no progress whatsoever. Slowly, Jahy manages to adapt to her new lifestyle and even manages to actually revive the Demon Lord (who takes the form of another little girl).
M girls are welcome!
Very wet SaurvaThe main characters of the series are:
Jahy
The former aide of the Demon Lord. She was ambitious, self-centered, loved a lavish lifestyle, and was even a bit sadistic with her underlings. She is now trying to find a way to go back to her usual life while struggling to survive as a human without powers.
Druj
A former subordinate of Jahy who goes by the name Nana Dojima in the human world. She quickly rose through the ranks and is now the president of a consulting company, living a comfortable life. She is secretly an M (masochist) and enjoys being berated by Jahy, but she doesn't want her to know that.
Best friends clearly!
Delicious Jahy!
Yandere M Druj
Chisa
The manager of the pub Sousaku Izakaya Maou where Jahy starts to work. She is gentle and is often the person who saves Jahy from utter despair whenever some of her plans fail.
Ryou
The landlady of the apartment where Jahy currently lives. She is Chisa's sister and has a love-hate relationship with Jahy due to her not paying rent at the right time.
Kokoro Sasaki
An elementary school student who helps Jahy in her quest to revive the Demon Lord by collecting crystal shards.
Poor Jahy-chan!
...and that's it. Dead!
Really hot design!
Small Demon Lord very cute!Kyouko Jingu
The magical girl who destroyed the Demon Lord. She eventually starts working at the same pub as Jahy and becomes close friends with her. She even ends up hosting the revived Demon Lord in her home.
Saurva
An extremely entertaining girl who wants to steal the role of "second-in-command" from Jahy. However, she is always the target of some misfortune when her absurd plans fail due to her own carelessness.
Demon Lord
After dying in the fight with Kyouko, she is revived and takes the form of a small girl. She doesn't talk, but she eats a lot and is generally very cute.
Not a huge fan of her small version to be honest
Saurva has great clothing choices! The art style is really gorgeous, and Jahy in her adult form is probably one of the character designs I like the most in the manga world. However, my favorite character is actually Saurva. I really like her determination to try and tackle Jahy even as she keeps failing over and over again.
The series is good fun and consistent in quality regarding both art and story. Don't expect huge developments, but if you are in for some comedy with an incredible art style, then this is for you.
