Jahy-sama ha Kujikenai Vol 10, 11 - Magical Ryou wasn't something I expected

Volumes 10 and 11 of Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! (ジャヒー様はくじけない!) continue from where we left off in the previous volume, with the Demon Lord finally able to communicate. She has recovered enough power after absorbing all the dark crystals that Druj accumulated during her time on Earth.

You might expect a huge shift in the narrative now that the Demon Lord has recovered some strength. However, it seems it is still not nearly enough to recreate the Demon Realm, so her stay on Earth will be a bit longer. Jahy is conflicted because she felt relieved by this news, causing her to doubt if she even wants to go back to the Demon Realm in the first place.

The rest of these volumes didn't really advance the overarching plot much, even though they gave a few characters some internal development. We saw a small outing between the Demon Lord and her sister, Justice, showing how they are working on repairing their relationship (while Jahy and Chisa followed them).

I am honestly curious to know more about the family composition. They are sisters, right? So there have to be other relatives like parents or uncles. Is there an entire family of overpowered beings somewhere just chilling out and not caring about what happens to their kids on Earth?

Who is the best dog for Jahy?!

Jahy and the entire group manage to win a trip to a hot spring. This provides some nice fanservice scenes (I didn't remember that Kyoko was that muscular under her usual cute clothes) and relaxing moments for the entire cast. Jahy enjoyed it so much that she was dreading going back to work. I can relate to that feeling...

We also get a new "character" as Jahy ends up adopting a small dog in her apartment after getting Ryou's permission. It is nice to see how much Jahy ends up liking having someone to share the apartment with. This also triggered a funny scene with Druj and Kyoko competing with the dog about who is the "best dog" for Jahy (see picture attached).

Oh, and we got an extremely funny segment about Ryou and Saurva becoming small children due to one of Saurva's usual inventions intended to outwit Jahy. Chisa LOVED every single moment of this, doting on them and making them wear children's clothes. They were less amused when they shifted back to their usual bodies while still wearing the children's clothes.

I am honestly not sure where the series wants to go from here. Staying with the slice-of-life and comedy is great, but I feel we are getting to the endgame now that the Demon Lord is close to being complete. Most of the troubles that Jahy experienced during her downfall are settled, so it feels like it is time to start the closing segment.

Kyoko is a weird character personality wise.

Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! continues to be an extremely entertaining series, and I can't wait to read more volumes in the near future.
