Kamiina Botan, Yoeru Sugata wa Yuri no Hana Ep.02 - Yaeka x Akane apparently...
Episode 2 of Kamiina Botan: Yoeru Sugata wa Yuri no Hana continues with slow-paced developments between Botan and Ibuki (the main yuri couple of the series) while also hinting at the other relationships between the girls, mainly Kitamori Yaeka and Yusa Akane.
The relationship between Yaeka and Akane is a classic one: Yaeka is impulsive and quick to anger, while Akane is the gentle, calm one who allows her to think and realize her mistakes. The episode begins with Yaeka storming out, saying that she'll "take out Botan and Ibuki" if Akane doesn't want to ride behind her.
Akane tried to explain, but she was ignored. Yaeka mulled over apologizing for most of the trip. She only did so later, thanks to Botan, when she realized that Akane only wanted to point out that it is illegal to carry a second passenger within the first year of holding a license; it wasn't that she was against the idea of riding behind her.
The dynamics between them are interesting, but because of the fight, Akane did not have much screen time in this episode compared to Yaeka, so I still cannot fully grasp their relationship when they are alone, how they interact, what they do to pass the time, etc.
As for the Ibuki and Botan pairing, Botan remains completely oblivious to how outrageous the things she says while drunk are. Ibuki does not mind, though, and neither do I; in fact, she probably likes it, considering the amount of blushing and her cute reactions. They went on what could essentially be called a date, and it was lovely to see Ibuki completely blown away when seeing Botan in a new outfit.
Kanade's situation is problematic, as she is clearly interested in getting closer to Ibuki, but Botan has pretty much monopolized Ibuki's attention. Can't they just, you know, make it a throuple? It would make me sad if Kanade doesn't get a happy ending, too. Plus Botan herself suggest "using her" to get to Ibuki so...*wears yuri glasses*
The alcohol aspect doesn't really resonate with me since I don't drink anything other than water, but the yuri segments (which are prevalent) are amazing enough to keep me glued to the series and wanting more. Twenty-four minutes feels way too short when watching this series.
