Kamiina Botan, Yoeru Sugata wa Yuri no Hana Ep.10 - Chin-lan continues to be the MVP.

Episode 10 of Kamiina Botan: Yoeru Sugata wa Yuri no Hana completely ignored the scene from last week to move on to another unrelated topic, which confirmed my opinion that they were merely trying to be "artistic" about the whole tears and declaration between Ibuki and Botan.

I genuinely thought about dropping the series altogether, as I kind of hate these pretentious developments in anime, but then I realized there are only two episodes left. I might as well finish it up to placate my OCD of having the series fully covered on this blog. I picked up the wrong series this season though, I really need to get a better lineup for the upcoming one.

Yes, look at her that way. Kanade is suspicious, don't give too much trust into her. She might betray you at a moment notice.

The scene where she leaves Chin-lan to chase Ibuki was jarring, especially considering she goes to Chin-lan right after.

This episode focused on the formation of the Chang Chin-lan x Gujou Kanade couple, which was obvious at this point. There wasn't much in terms of real development; they just went "shall we?" as a sort of compromise after Kanade got dumped by Ibuki for Botan. Again, they showed no development reasonable enough to justify the couple forming, but at this point, I'm not expecting them to.

The whole series seems to jump around, simply saying that "it's destiny" to justify the relationships being born that way. I know that it changes from person to person, but it feels cheap to me. I prefer when there is actually enough time to make the relationship feel natural.

Akane was like "huh, since when did that happen?" so much it was obvious that Kanade and Chin-lan are actually a thing now. Good to see people are not blind! View video page

On the positive side, Chin-lan continues to deliver lots of funny skits, and she is generally the character that I like the most in the series. She's witty, smart, and extremely cute whenever she tries to do something. I'm not sure if she's actually putting in effort to look cute or if it's just natural.

Oh, and there was a small scene for Yaeka and Akane too, but as usual, they're kind of the "side characters" of the story. They are there, but they feel unimportant compared to what is happening to the other four girls in the cast. I guess that's the curse of being a settled couple.

This scene was another of those 'oh it's destiny' one. The entire series seems filled with them.

Adorable Chin-lan trying to open the ice pack. She just emanate that 'I'm cute' aura.

Well, two episodes to go and all the couples are settled, so I'm not entirely sure what they'll do to provide a finale to the adaptation. Maybe some random drinking group scene as usual? I don't see them giving any meaningful development to any of the characters this late in the series.
