Mayonaka Heart Tune Ep.04 - Uzuki's true wish. Lemon-chan?!

January 27, 2026 · 3:34 PM

Episode 4 of Mayonaka Heart Tune (真夜中ハートチューン) jumps into the development arc for the third girl of the group, Uzuki, while exploring more of her personality. She is the vice president of the student council and is extremely popular in school, to the point that everyone comes to ask for her help.

The issue is that she accepts every request without asking for support from anyone around her. This forces her to put in long hours trying to please everyone. This has taken a toll on her ability to study and reach her goal of entering a famous university on her way to becoming an announcer (apparently, most of them come from those schools), to the point that she was even considering quitting the club.

Wait, is Uzuki getting excited at the prospect of him watching her?

Of course, Yamabuki called her out for it, but I think I understand her desire not to let anyone down. She has always had that aura of "trying to mediate," even within the Broadcasting Club. It is not a bad thing to be helpful, but it should never be to the detriment of your own life and goals. Once those are fulfilled, the rest of your time can be spent as you see fit.

There were lots of fun scenes during the athletic festival, such as the cavalry battle (Kibasen), with Yamabuki serving as the lone horse for Uzuki (and losing badly). There was also the "borrowed item race" (Karimono Kyoso), where both Iko and Rikka took Yamabuki as the "item" based on the interesting text written on their papers (see the attached video).

Wait wait, I can understand the "most reliable" part, but what is this "the voice I like the most". That's absolutely not what I was expecting them to choose Yamabuki for... View video page

We also got the introduction of a completely new character this week named Lemon-chan (full name Lemon Ando), who is a teacher and the advisor of the Broadcasting Club. Weirdly, this is the first time we have seen her, so I guess she doesn't supervise the club as closely as an advisor really should.

She seems like a serious teacher from the few lines we heard in this episode, but at the same time, her character design is "soft," which implies she isn't antagonistic toward the group. I am expecting her to be a more or less disinterested teacher, just playing along with the students and stopping them only if something might end up damaging her position. This may put her at odds with Yamabuki because he is prone to pulling outrageous stunts to help the girls overcome their limitations.

The next episode will probably focus on trying to achieve Uzuki's wish to hold the "Declaration Agent" event at school. The idea is simple: an anonymous student wants to say something to everyone, so they submit this message through an anonymous tool (using their own voice), and the Broadcasting Club will read it to the entire school.

Honestly, I can see this being a rather unreliable idea because a voice is something that can possibly be identified depending on how unique it is. But well, let's see how it goes and if Uzuki will manage to fully express her thoughts without fumbling her words.
