Mayonaka Heart Tune Ep.05 - Lemon is my spirit animal. Revelation?!
Episode 5 of Mayonaka Heart Tune (真夜中ハートチューン) introduces Lemon as the advisor of the Broadcasting Club and delivers the proposed "confession" event suggested by Uzuki. Honestly, I was skeptical about Lemon at first, but she turned out to be an extremely fun character to watch.
She is lazy and doesn't want to do anything that would put her position at risk, but she doesn't hesitate to jump in whenever there is something to gain. She is beautiful and hilarious whenever she tries to be sensual to attract the PE teacher, Samejima, who somehow still falls for it. I am honestly loving her character.

She was, of course, against the idea of holding the event at first, as it would attract the attention of annoying teachers who dislike unplanned activities. However, after some convincing, she got on board and even went out of her way to plan the best strategy to ensure the activity succeeded.
The plan is a success, and they actually start facilitating love confessions through this system. I have no idea why someone would choose something this much more embarrassing instead of just declaring their feelings directly to the person. There would be much less damage if you were rejected that way, wouldn't there?
As things start to calm down, Uzuki begins reading the last confession, which is Apollo's message for Arisu. It reveals that she ran away from the promise she made with Arisu because she thought she couldn't uphold it and was scared. But now that he is back and has spoken the same encouraging words to her, she is going to answer in kind and say that she loves Arisu.
Then we get the scene with Arisu talking to Apollo through a string phone, where she reveals that she is ready to show herself to him again. This was quite surprising to me because I didn't expect Apollo to be revealed at all in this anime adaptation. Is she really going to appear, and what will happen afterward? The entire goal of Arisu's journey was to find Apollo.

I still hope for the revelation that "all four of them were Apollo," because it would make the most sense and would be much more fun than having one specific heroine as the centerpiece of the narrative. I guess that is something to look forward to next week.
