Shikisaki Shimai wa Abakaretai - Who is the culprit?!Nov 28, 2025, 9:02:33 AM

Shikisaki Shimai wa Abakaretai (四季崎姉妹はあばかれたい) is an interesting mystery and ecchi manga series written and illustrated by Asakura Ryousuke. It has five volumes, its serialization run between 2022 and 2023, and I finished reading it a few months ago.

The story follows Tarou Yamada, a private detective who, in a very bizarre twist of fate, slips on a banana peel and reincarnates into Tsukushi Shikisaki, the younger brother of three beautiful sisters. He wakes up in a hospital bed because the boy had apparently fallen down some stairs and was injured.

Who will be the culprit?!

After a few days, Tarou begins noticing that something is not right with the situation. His detective instincts kick in and he becomes convinced that one of the three sisters is responsible for Tsukushi's hospitalization. He also suspects she may attempt to finish the job later.

Tarou begins investigating in order to discover the truth and deliver justice for the boy whose body he now inhabits. At the same time, he must act convincingly like Tsukushi so he does not attract the attention of the culprit who is still hiding in the background.

Nice underwear choice.
She's so gal!

The series alternates between serious and unsettling moments, engaging mystery, and ecchi interactions with the sisters. I have to say it kept me genuinely hooked because I really wanted to know what happened to Tsukushi on that day.

The art style is high quality and the three sisters are absolutely gorgeous in terms of character design. There are a few minor characters such as a female neighbor and friend of Tsukushi, but the focus always stays firmly on the sisters.

Huge and soft!
Detectives!

We also see glimpses of Tarou's past and how it ties into some of the people around him. These details are revealed gradually as the story progresses while the detective shifts from one theory to another in his attempt to uncover the truth. The girls remain tight-lipped about the incident and their testimonies are often incomplete or misleading which adds even more layers to the mystery.

The three sisters are:

Shikisaki Momiji
Short-cut white or gray hair and a shy personality, at least on the surface. She is secretly deeply in love with Tsukushi despite being siblings. This is revealed early in the series and the detective immediately doubts the reliability of her statements because she is clearly hiding something.

Yandere eyes are scary!
*hugs*

Shikisaki Hinagiku
A blonde girl with a gal-like appearance. She puts on a strong and combative front toward Tsukushi, but it turns out to be an act and she is actually very soft with him. She also appears to be concealing something important.

Shikisaki Yuri
The oldest sister and a police officer. She switches rapidly between doting, motherly affection and cold, deadpan stares that make you question her real intentions toward Tsukushi. She's probably the most scary at the beginning.

My favorite character changed multiple times while reading as more information about each sister was revealed. I feel like the author intentionally guided readers to suspect one sister, then another, as the plot moved forward. In the end, I think Momiji is my favorite overall, followed closely by Hinagiku.

*pats head*

I do not want to go into spoiler territory because this series is best experienced firsthand and trying to guess the truth is probably half of the enjoyment while reading it. The other half is admittedly watching the sisters get into ecchi situations.

I definitely recommend giving this manga a try. It is short, stylish, and filled with enough mystery and character intrigue to keep you busy for a few days.
