Wuthering Waves 3.0 Part 2 Story - Mornye is such a cutie. Now Aemeath?
Today saw the release of the second part of the Wuthering Waves Patch 3.0 story, which focuses on Mornye and the entire artificial sun plot. It continues right from where we left off, with Lynae taking the exams and managing to re-enroll in school as a real student this time around.
Unfortunately, the people working with Fractsidus are still around and plotting to disrupt the plan before it can be completed. Rover, Lynae, and Mornye team up to investigate the situation further, aiming to find the culprit and a solution before any harm can occur.

The story follows the standard Wuthering Waves formula: investigation, glazing of Rover by some unknown character, a problem ensuing, the "heroine of the week" ending up in dire danger, and Rover saving the day and the heroine, leaving everyone happy thereafter. At this point, I do not even complain about it because I just accept it as the way the developers decided to structure the game.
It feels like an action flick with expensive-looking scenes but without much depth. Characters are used for the duration of the "movie", and then you move on to the next character to focus on. In the moment you are actually playing, it feels really good, but it has very little lasting impact compared to a more structured story.
While the action sequences were amazing and even better than the ones against the Voidworm, I feel that this second part had much less staying power compared to the Lynae segment. I think they should have moved more quickly through the investigation part and instead given more time for the experiment aspect to be developed.
There were some small lore developments with vague information given to Rover by the new character named "The Shaper", but it felt sort of glossed over and was never really the focus. At this stage, we do not really know what the final objective of Fractsidus is in Lahai-Roi.

One thing we know for sure is that Cristoforo from Fractsidus is once again involved in this new arc, just like he was in Rinascita. In the very final scene of the story, there was a character saying he saw "himself" before losing consciousness (implying a doppelganger or someone taking his form). Then, another generic NPC walked past him, talking exactly like Cristoforo while addressing Rover.
I look forward to the next patch in 21 days, which will focus on Aemeath as the new "main heroine" of this story arc, just like Cartethyia was in Rinascita.
