Platformer in Wuwa?!

We entered an old facility in a frozen part of the Lahai-Roi region together with Luuk, Nivora (likely another character playable, probably a 4*) and Aemeath to investigate information about an old project that was run there.
All was going smoothly with the usual Quick-Time Event fest of chase sequences between riding on a bike and jumping around the map when all a sudden the gameplay switched entirely to become a platformer. I think I saw the same type of gameplay once again in an old story, but can't point out exactly where.
I was already ultra surprised, but then Aemeath hacked the terminal around me showing herself in a 2D pixel style version and started a new type of gameplay altogether. This time it became a top-down cell based movement gameplay reminiscent of old games from the 80s.

This kind of "changes"/swaps from the standard gameplay in the main stories are honestly quite welcome. Not that I dislike the gameplay we usually have, but these give a bit more of a cinematic effect to the story. I don't think anyone is expecting to have hard battles in the story in the first place so instead of having boring "hack and slash" through ineffective enemies (compared to the level of the player), it's better to let creativity run amok.

Now we have platformer gameplay in Wuwa too. Honestly it's kind of fun, I wish they made a series of mini games event like the other they do with this mechanic.

Lucilla and Sigrika will be playable?!

Just started playing patch 3.1 of Wuthering Waves and they already started showing multiple "clearly not NPC" characters. The first one was the teacher Lucilla, but there were also two students (Sigrika for example) with the same "aura" that distinguishes perfectly from the others. Leaks indicate that Sigrika will become playable in 3.2.
I managed to get Aemeath with 70-ish rolls so I'm still full with rolls for the future, but I'm not sure I'm going to roll for Luuk in 21 days. Not a huge fan of his bisshie design to be honest.

So far the story is in the initial phases, Aemeath appears while we were attending class, talk with us and then leave. No one else see or hear her making Rover look a bit like a crazy dude. Lucilla then explains that she was a student many years ago (probably back when Rover was also there) and then disappeared completely and was never found. No one has ever heard of her, but there are rumors of a ghost around Lahai-Roi. Then while we're trying to chase for her, we get attacked by a huge mecha and get saved (again) by Aemeath.
She reveals us that she died long ago when trying to resonate with the giant mecha called Exostrider to fight against the Threnodian and save Lahai-Roi. It ended up with her overclocking and her body being decomposed. She's technically alive, but dead at the same time (digital ghost).

Will this stop Rover from making her a wife?! I honestly doubt something as simple as "being dead" would stop the "gathering wives" master Rover from getting her too.

She's supposedly the poster girl of 3.x so I'm expecting that, like with Cartethyia in 2.x, we won't see the conclusion of her story until much later in the patch cycle. Either way, let me continue with the story. I'll make a post about it later once I'm done.

Lucilla from Wuthering Waves looks really stunning. The design of these new characters is getting better and better with each passing patch.

Mornye legs prosthetics

I keep thinking about what’s really going on with her legs. After looking around online, it does seem clear they’re prosthetics, since she apparently can’t walk without them. Still, the specific design choices, the color, the overall style, feel less like a purely in-world necessity and more like an artistic decision meant to make her stand out and look cool.
Not that I’m complaining at all, because Mornye looks fantastic regardless. It just makes me curious about how much of it will actually be addressed in the story. Either way, the new Wuthering Waves patch can’t arrive soon enough. A whole new region is exactly what the game needs right now, especially since I was starting to run out of things to do in Rinascita and could really use something fresh to dive into.

Mornye legs look interesting. What are those things that float within the legs??

Mornye and Lynae thoughts before release

Between the two preview resonators for the next patch, Mornye is definitely the better-looking one (even though the other girl isn’t bad either). What I keep wondering, though, is whether she’s actually human, especially considering the whole situation with her legs… things. I guess they could just be prosthetics that she uses to move around. With the sci-fi setting and the fact that we’re heading to a research-focused academy city, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if they had technology advanced enough to replicate legs almost perfectly.
I understand that, but why are they glowing?!

Mornye from Wuthering Waves. Is she an alien or something?

Chisa Pixel Art animation

Chisa from Wuthering Waves looks so adorable here. I'm curious to see how her story will continue in the new zone. Will she be able to meet back with her parents, how will she react to the fact that they got much older due to the time paradox?
The main worry I have is that they go with the usual approach that Kuro took with the heroines of the 2.x and simply forget she exist and they just focus on the new characters instead. It works for the immediate, but feel so shallow once you realize you'll probably never see those characters again.

This sort of pixel art style animation is something that 3D somehow doesn't manage to recreate the emotions from. Maybe I'm nostalgic here.
