Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi Vol 7,8 - Body switch with Yuna?! Who is that one...
Volumes 7 and 8 of
After the Groundhog Day gimmick of the last story arc, this time around it's all about body switching. Yuna and Uryuu swap bodies and are forced to act as each other, literally "putting themselves in someone else's shoes" by learning what the other faces in their everyday life.

For Yuna, it's facing an English test at school; for Uryuu, it's performing a dance for the shrine. At the same time, thanks to Yuna's best friend, Mitsuko (who sees through Uryuu's acting), we get to catch a glimpse of Yuna's past before she became the serious girl we know today. She was cheerful and extremely adorable, and everything only changed when her mother died.
This also opens up the question of why Yuna was against Uryuu at the beginning, and it turns out to be quite an important reason. She always wanted to become a Kannushi, but female Kannushi are extremely rare, so she kind of gave up on that dream. Uryuu manages to reignite that dream with his usual provoking, and honestly, I agree with Mitsuko that they look like a couple already!

Yuna is now officially in the fray for Uryuu's heart, and she honestly feels like the frontrunner right now, probably because they are the same age. I'm still torn about who the best heroine is, because each time one gets the focus, she ends up in an adorable scene and I just can't...
All this has been caused by the same god that caused the Groundhog Day event, but I'm starting to wonder what the connection is between the girls and the god. Is it just the shrine god, or is there something else that connects them? I'm speculating it's their mother, but...

There was a lack of Asahi and Yae in these volumes, with them relegated to more of a supporting role, but that was expected since Yuna took a back seat in the previous volumes instead. Hopefully, they'll keep giving each heroine enough time to shine in each volume.
The preview for the next volume shows that a new character is going to be introduced, apparently Uryuu's childhood friend. She'll probably be used as a throwaway heroine from the looks of it, as she wishes for a world where she can be with him, which clashes with the three sisters.

It's doomed to fail, of course, but I don't mind if it helps build up a better foundation around the three main heroines. At this point, we know the quirks of each of them, but we need more moments between them and Uryuu to create the necessary groundwork for romance.
