Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi Vol 5,6 - Groundhog day with Asahi?!

Volumes 5 and 6 of Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi reveal quite a lot of secrets around the three heroines, and it's finally taking off when it comes to actually seeing the connections between the various characters. The most important was clearly the cliffhanger that we were left with at the end of volume 4 about the mysterious Ichijouji Reiko.

Apparently, Yae was the daughter of a high-class family and was forced into strict training to become what the mother wanted her to be. This backfired, and her fated meeting with Uryuu in their childhood was the final nail in the coffin that caused her to rebel, eventually be exiled from her family, and be welcomed into the shrine.

Asahi and Karen look so yuri in this picture. Might be because of the flowers maybe? Or the fact they're young?

Makoto and Yae look so much different for being the same age. Makoto looks a lot older.

This also means that, as I kind of suspected from their looks, the girls are not really blood-related, but more like three adopted girls that entered life at the shrine. We don't know for certain about Asahi or Yuuna, but I'm guessing their situation isn't much different.

This event triggered Yae to realize her feelings for Uryuu and officially start the race to entice him, especially considering Asahi is also in love. Yuna is also in love for sure, but she's a tsundere, so it'll take a bit before she can be honest with herself. Considering Yae got her route in volume 5 and Asahi in volume 6, hopes are that Yuna gets one in volume 7.

Yae changed the entire attitude the moment she realized she's in love with Uryuu. Way more assertive.

I wonder if this spirit is somehow related to the mother of the sisters. You know how these things go right?

Speaking of Asahi, her chapter was the best among all of those we've gotten so far, with her and Uryuu stuck in a time loop repeating the days toward Tanabata, seemingly because of Asahi's wishes. This quickly becomes comical as the two engage in antics typical of Groundhog Day.

Both Asahi and Yae have a supporting character that works as a way to portray their lives outside the circle. The serious Makoto for Yae and the proud Karen for Asahi are good examples of characters that work in this kind of series because they never really become heroines themselves, but work on supporting one.

I told you! Clearly yuri between Asahi and Karen is a must. Now let me go wear my yuri glasses please.

Asahi delivering her first kiss and starting the war for Uryuu's heart. Hopefully ending with an happy harem end!

I'm not sure about the mysterious god that caused the time loop, though (that could only be seen by Yomiko); it looks like a female shrine maiden, and I was wondering if it could be linked in some way with the mother of the three sisters who passed away. I'm sure it's not the last time we see her, though...
