Bad Girl Ep.5-8 - Kiyoraka and Mizuka appears! Suzu still the best!
Episodes 5-8 of Bad Girl continue with pretty much the same level of entertaining comedy, but also introduce a few new characters and even give some character development for my favorite heroine, Suzukaze Suzu, solidifying its position as one of the best slice-of-life series I've watched in recent history.
The first new character we are introduced to is Sumiki Kiyoraka, a classmate and friend of Atori who loves to find ways to tease her, be it by making her wear weird clothes or luring her into embarrassing situations. Atori is completely oblivious to Kiyoraka's real personality, but then again, it's Atori; she's oblivious to almost everything.

The second new character still revolves around Atori, and it's Mizutori Mizuka, her little sister. Mizuka is a deep siscon, which puts her at odds with the Atori-centered Yuu, creating a rivalry and competition for Atori's attention. The relationship is strained at the beginning, but you know, common tastes mean eventually they come to a truce to "share information".
As I mentioned before, Suzu got some backstory building by showing how this whole love triangle started. Back in middle school, Suzu thought that nothing would ever change between her and Yuu until Atori appeared and broke this stability by enticing Yuu enough for her to target the school where she studies.

Suzu wasn't a great student, but the risk of losing Yuu permanently drove her to study hard and get into the same school, leading to this series. I really loved how they showed her first despairing and then becoming combative after seeing Atori for the first time. You know I'm cheering for her to make Yuu understand who must be at her side.
Yuu herself doesn't really realize how much she relies on Suzu every single time. The scene where she was left alone on the bus due to a different seat position was hilarious. Having no one to relate to and realizing the bus travel was going to be a very, very long journey...

Atori, honestly, isn't even really interested in Yuu or anyone else in a romantic way. She just loves cute things and generally enjoys when things don't go as she plans. In fact, she seems to be growing fond of Suzu too and pesters her with hugs and other affection, stating that she loves the fact that she puts up a tough front to her approaches.
By the way, Rura is considered a main character by everything (OP, ED, promotional material), but was evidently absent from these four episodes; hopefully they'll recover in the last episodes. While she's definitely not Suzu, I love how she's always asking for attention and searching for friendship.

Now for the final stretch to see how the anime completes, another post here and then I'll jump into reading the manga because I'm liking it way too much to stop here. I want to see what else is going to happen between these four girls. Will Suzu manage to get her dream?!
