Needy Girl Overdose Ep.02 - What was that final scene? That's scary...
Episode 02 of Needy Girl Overdose continues on the path delineated in the first episode, introducing some new characters (three other Vtubers) and featuring a "contest" between them and OMGkawaiiAngel, the main heroine of the series. As usual, the series takes a "Mawaru Penguindrum" approach to narrative, which means continuity and explanations are absolutely secondary.
I'll be honest: I tried to like this. I really did, but a combination of factors is pushing me away from the series altogether. The first is definitely the weakness of the characters; they introduced colorful and well-designed character art, but there is nothing that makes me want to care for them.

The characters feel paper-thin, and while I enjoyed the bit of comedy surrounding Poison Denpa Girl☆Purple Lollipop (she is a fan of the main heroine), I don't feel any attachment to her. I literally had to go back and look at her name because I had forgotten it by the time the episode was over.
Then we have the developments, which seem to follow a very thin, VTuber-focused series of events mixed with a scene of violence by a crazed fan. It's trying to be "mature" by adding shock value, but I just don't feel it. It feels fragmented and forced. Remember, I do watch some VTuber content myself, but this? I'm not sure.
The only positive I can note about this episode was the final scene after the credits, showing the real life form of OMGkawaiiAngel and her relationship with P (I'm guessing the producer and the player in the game). She is beyond broken, and her mind seems to be hanging between sanity and madness, kept together only by P's presence.
This part actually managed to grab my attention. What happened that caused her to degrade to such a state? Will we actually see P in this anime or will he only be mentioned? But then again, it was just 60 seconds at the very end, which makes you wonder, "What did I watch until now?"

I'm still debating what to do because, as I said, the final scene managed to pique my interest, but there's a good chance I'll stop here and use that time to watch another series starting next week. I guess it will depend on how much time I have when the next episode drops.
