Just a few minutes ago I finished reading the Luna III main story of Genshin Impact, and I honestly could not wait to write something because the patch was packed with surprises. This post contains heavy spoilers, so only read if you are fine with that or have already completed the story.

The main crisis has finally subsided. Rerir is sealed, peace is returning to Nod Krai, and things seem hopeful again. However, the battle drained Columbina to the point that she cannot maintain her presence in the world. At this point, Alice finally appears to help. Yes, that Alice, Klee’s mother, one of the most powerful witches alive, and she looks absolutely stunning.

Alongside her, basically everyone from the previous patches gathers to save Columbina. Columbina stays with them in spirit form, silently following them (even though they can't see her) as they work to bring her back. Another witch also appears to help: Nicole, an odd and aloof character who made me smile several times.

She is an angel, just like the Natlan one, but in her case she managed to keep her physical body. What really stands out is her eagerness to spill secrets. She clearly knows too much, and I am starting to think that her inability to speak aloud and only communicate mentally might be the result of some curse linked to her eagerness to talk about things.

After several attempts to recover Columbina's true name, they realize she never had one. But that does not mean she cannot claim one now. In a beautiful emotional moment, she chooses the name Columbina Hyposelenia, which anchors her existence and brings her back.

We then get some lighthearted scenes at the Moon Goddess Festival, and honestly they were hilarious. Seeing Arlecchino with cat ears playing with water balloons was something I never expected to witness. And poor Jahoda, being targeted by two Fatui Harbingers even in something as harmless as a water balloon fight must feel like the worst luck imaginable.

We also get cute interactions with Lauma and Nefer, who bicker like an old married couple. Columbina quietly observes them and realizes that this kind of bickering is what happens when people are close. Yes, Columbina, that is indeed how yuri couples behave. Now hurry up and get things going with Sandrone, we are all waiting.

And speaking of Sandrone, we get one of the most important moments of the update: an extremely adorable Sandrone–Columbina scene. I uploaded the entire nine minutes because it deserves to be preserved forever. These two are unbelievably cute together, and my yuri senses activate instantly whenever they interact.

But then the real plot twist hits. Just as Columbina prepares to return to the moon, Dottore appears and tries to kidnap her to exploit her power. Columbina manages to escape, but she heads toward the very place where Rerir and his lover are sealed.

This confirms that Dottore is being positioned as the final antagonist of this entire arc. We will not fight him anytime soon, but it is clear where the story is heading. He is plotting to change “his destiny” using the power of the three Moon Goddesses, but what that destiny is remains unknown.

One thing is certain. The normally calm and cold Arlecchino is furious, fully ready to go after him regardless of what the Tsarisa says. Sandrone was not on screen, but I'm sure she is just as enraged. Things are going to get very chaotic next patch.

And while Columbina is guaranteed to be playable next update, making the separation short, the ending still hit surprisingly hard. Now do I really need to wait more than forty days for the continuation? With how this story ended, waiting is going to be torture.
