Hyakkano Season 3 Ep.02 - Meme's eyes strike again. Hahari, good job!

July 12, 2026 · 6:36 PM

Episode 2 of Hyakkano season 3 continues delivering top-tier comedy content that, honestly, it's difficult for any other series to rival. Every single scene had me laughing, and the tempo was so perfectly balanced that I never felt a second to be distracted or bored.

The first half of the episode was dedicated to the new entry, Chiyo, and her introduction to the harem girls. Rentarou did the usual introduction, asking everyone if she could join the group, and then Chiyo spent some time showing her quirks to everyone else.

Hahari was ready to impress everyone and failed badly. She tried though so that's all forgiven as far as I'm concerned.

Of course, Chiyo started to point out all the things that "weren't right" about the girls in the group, trying to fix them, but the most hilarious part came when Rentarou asked if something was wrong with him, too, and Chiyo said, "You're eleven-timing the girls." We kind of forget about it, but that's actually a bad thing... or is it?

You can see the attached scene for one of the things that Chiyo pointed out as wrong: Hahari having fun with Iku. This reminds me of how, within the harem, sub-groups of heroines are forming who hang together more than others, like Hakari and Karane, for example.

Now tell me if this isn't a work of art. Like Hahari and Iku are like the Leonardo da Vinci of 2026. Just...perfect! View video page

The second half of the episode was instead dedicated to Meme Kakure being targeted by the journalism club member Torotoro Kishika, who wants to see her eyes under her bangs and starts stalking her. Rentarou and the others want to put this to a stop, but the various attempts fail until Mimimi manages to find a way around it.

An important thing I noticed in this part is that they made sure Rentarou never faced Torotoro even once; he was always either hidden or somewhere else when the events were happening. That's clearly because she's becoming one of the heroines later on, isn't it? I wonder if this will happen this season or a future one...

Admittedly that Scene with Hahari and Iku was quite borderline when it comes to humanity, but girls gotta have fun?

Kakure Meme fighting the pressure of being on show. I'm really curious to see her eyes again, I think we saw them once a few seasons back or am I dreaming it?

Next week, we'll likely get back on track to introduce a new heroine and maybe have a bigger story arc around her. I've had a quick look at the opening, and there are quite a few interesting candidates in the OP animation; I guess they'd want to go for a mature-looking one after the small Chiyo?
