Hyakkano Season 3 Ep.05 - Yasashiki Yamame's time to shine. Hahari?!

Episode 5 of Hyakkano Season 3 goes back to its roots with the introduction of another heroine to the main cast named Yasashiki Yamame, the 14th heroine on the journey toward the 100 heroines target. At this rate, we should be reaching 17 or even 18 by the end of the season!

Yamame is the "countryside" girl stereotype with the typical voice accent, the love for animals and plants, and even the giant size compared to everyone else that makes her stand out even more. As the surname says, she's extremely sweet and caring, but at the same time insecure about herself.

White dress has a special charm and every single one of the girls here look amazing in it. We need to thank Hahari for preparing the costumes!

Among these, Hahari is definitely the best looking, but I like Mei too as it feels different than her usual maid uniform.

You know, being bigger than everyone else means kids picked on her when she was a child and the trauma remained up to today, causing her to feel inadequate, especially considering the number of beauties in Rentarou's harem. Thankfully, everyone is as accepting as always and she's in a safe place now.

Her introduction was about bringing lots of flowers to give to the other girlfriends, which ended up in an extremely adorable scene with all the heroines in a white dress with a flower crown that you can see in the many screenshots that I attached to this article.

Hahari continues to be the source of adorable scenes for all the heroines. How can she be so perfect that it carries the show fanservice?! View video page

I'll be honest here, I don't really like the stereotype altogether, neither the countryside accent nor the giant size, but I understand that variety is necessary, otherwise it'll become hard to distinguish the heroines apart, especially as the numbers keep growing and growing with each passing episode.

I already have trouble remembering some of the minor heroines' quirks like Kurumi, and I genuinely can't imagine what will happen once we reach 40+ heroines like the manga is already at. It's a challenge to try and keep characters relevant when you have so many. I think I understand now why usually stories limit themselves to 5-6 recurring heroines max and use everyone else as a one-time thing.

Excluding Kusuri everyone else is stunning here. Shizuka is like an angel and Karane/Hakari being next to each other means...yuri?!

Can I take Chiyo home? I'll treat her well, give lots of treats and... and... and... stop! I'm innocent! It's not my fault!

On an unrelated note, I don't remember if it has ever been explained, but do we know what the deal is with An Baba, the vice principal of the Ohananomitsu High School? I remember something about her being a former track athlete, but why did she become that monstrosity that chases down male students? It's played as a joke, but sometimes it's downright terrifying.

I doubt they'll do two new heroines in a row, so next week we'll switch back to doing something fun with the entire group. Idol has already been done, I guess it would be nice to get a full swimsuit episode? I can't remember when we got the last one, so it must've been long ago...

Yamame with animals being comfortable around her. Again she's a sweet girl, a shame the archetype is just not that exciting for me...

Need to remind everyone that Hahari is the best heroine of the series every week and thankfully they deliver lots of art for her!

By the way, I'm fighting myself about starting the manga because one part of me wants to know what happens next, but with this being the third season I wonder if we're going to get a fourth one and there's no need to rush and read instead of watching it the first time in animated form...
