Hyakkano Season 3 Ep.04 - Idol episode! They were all so pretty! Hahari!

Episode 4 of Hyakkano Season 3 is a curveball; it doesn't really focus on any specific character, but instead does its own thing by creating an idol-centered episode featuring all the heroines. To be honest, I have thought about this in the past because the number of heroines is large enough to rival those idol squads, but I wasn't expecting them to actually go through with it.

The premise is simple: Hahari invited a popular idol group to perform, but they all break their bones right before the event due to a mysterious coincidence, forcing the heroines to step in as idols. A strict teacher joins them to guide them toward becoming proper performers...

Idol outfit, I think the best was Hahari, but I quite liked Iku too. I like how they all have different variations to make them stand out more.

This scene was cheesy, but I liked it. The good ones wanting to perform together with the others too. Good girls, all of them!

...or so we thought. However, after seeing that some of them are not stage-ready, the teacher tries to divide the group in two, taking only the best for the show. Of course, they refuse because they want the group to stay together; the teacher leaves and is replaced by the always-ready Rentarou.

Eventually, they hit the stage with a few cute songs and show great cohesion, managing to grab the attention of the public and making the event a great success, so much so that they are invited by a big producer. Of course, it ends there because the "no romance" rule is non-negotiable for them, as they all want to be with Rentarou.

They also added a few small cameo scenes of the upcoming heroines for the rest of the season. I've spotted a few I remember from the opening animation, but again, I don't know how many we're getting, so there might be more that are actually going to be introduced later.

Hahari continues to steal the spotlight for me, whether for the fanservice scenes or simply because of how adorable she is while trying her best to fit in with the younger girls. I'm usually a Karane fan, but Hahari ended up being the subject of three of the four videos I posted about this season.

Hakari mimicking Karane's tsundere behaviour was great. I like the energy between those two. Yuri energy of course!

Their journey was pretty short, being denied loving Rentarou is too much of a cost and they're not even willing to consider that. They just left.

Considering the pace and the fact that there are quite a few heroines left to add, I expect the next episode to be about the introduction of a new heroine—either the young-looking sleepy one or the giant one with green hair. Apparently, the latter is 200cm tall; that's impressive, isn't it? Is Rentarou going to need a ladder?
