Hyakkano Season 3 Ep.07 - Mini Nano! Wait, really? Kusuri's grandmother?!
Episode 7 of Hyakkano Season 3 delivers a split episode showing a bit more of the heroines from the first season, Kusuri and Nano, without continuing the process of adding other heroines to the mix. This time around, though, the new heroine was left as a cliffhanger, which is a novel approach to this series as far as I can remember.
The first half was all about Nano becoming ultra-small and having to be taken care of by Rentarou for a day until she returned to normal. This somehow reminded me a lot of an old-time anime named Midori no Hibi, where a girl ended up becoming the right hand of the protagonist.

Nano showing emotions in general is rare because of her personality, and it was extremely adorable to see her being scared of heights or trying to write notes at school with the huge pencil. It really reminded me why I loved the original heroines so much, and I hope they'll do something similar for the others too.
The second half was about Rentarou going to visit Kusuri's family. He was ultra-wary because it wasn't the first time he ended up getting connected with one of the heroine's mothers (see Hahari), but things progressed relatively smoothly with him getting to know her mother and father.
The visit was interrupted by a spy trying to take Nano back to his facility to make her work on some shady research. Cue some hilarious back-and-forth with Rentarou and Kusuri trying to protect each other, and a rather quick resolution when Kusuri's father recovers his original muscular form and defeats the spy.
After everything is settled is when the cliffhanger drops. Kusuri's grandmother appears (off-screen, not showing her body or face), and Rentarou locks onto her face, activating the god message. Apparently, the next heroine is going to be Kusuri's grandmother, now that's something new.

Of course, being Kusuri's grandmother is appropriate because it means she'll likely be extremely young due to all the potions and experimentation that Kusuri does all the time. I guess she'll be a nanojya loli obaachan, which is actually something we've lacked in the series.
