Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu Ep.12 - Claude vs Jeanne was cute.
Episode 12 of Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu delivers the happy ending to this story arc, with Arc Turus being defeated, Algebar Rigel being captured, and everyone being more or less safe. They also managed to show us Claude at full power, which is something we have been waiting to see since the beginning of the series.
The interesting part is that, as I mentioned last week, they've gone full-metal in the battles. Algebar Rigel is shown as completely deranged, and he actually tried to kill the other students. They survived through a shield created by Tarf, but the intent was fully there, which is rare in these days of sanitized anime.

Arc Turus, meanwhile, was shown to be vulnerable and extremely mentally unstable, making me think there's a chance of her actually switching sides back to the light at some point in the future, perhaps thanks to Spica. It may be my wishful thinking, but every action seems to be moving us toward it.
Especially the line that she muttered (silently) to Spica at the end of the episode. What did she exactly say? She didn't seem angry or vengeful; her face was neutral while speaking, unlike how she was for the rest of the episode. Does it connect to what they're going to reveal next week?
The final scene with Jeanne and Claude competing over who is Spica's teacher was nice, and it showed that there are higher and higher levels; Jeanne was clearly superior to Claude, and she wasn't even trying. What level is the boss from the evil religious side? Comparable? Even beyond that?
The next episode is titled "Memories of Arcturus," which should show us what really happened that day when Claude lost his powers and Arc went astray, becoming part of the evil cult. I'm a bit confused here because it feels like a direct continuation of the arc, but that means the series is going to continue for two cours?

I don't mind, to be honest, as I've loved it so far, but I am curious because the MyAnimeList page still reports "?" as of today in the "number of episodes" and no other site reports it as a summer season series. Hopefully, it's not just a huge cliffhanger leaving us hanging...
