Make Heroine ga Oosugiru Vol 6 - Lemon focused volume! Adorable!

Volume 6 of Make Heroine ga Oosugiru! continues completing the first year arc of the story with the graduation of all the upperclassmen and introduces a new year for Nukumizu, Anna, and everyone else. Or so I was thinking before realizing that almost the entire episode was really just a side story to explore more of Lemon's character.

I'm not complaining here; originally, I didn't like Lemon much as a heroine as she felt the weakest of the original three, but after this volume, she definitely deserves the heroine title. The episode starts with Nukumizu going on a date with Lemon "in secret" from everyone else after she asked him out.

I say in secret because Anna, Chika, and even his little sister Kaju ended up tailing him all day while the date was ongoing. The date itself was quite cute with Nukumizu unsure whether to approach her more or not, and it showed Lemon in quite a different light compared to her usual sports-focused self. Apparently, much of this was due to help from her mother, who lent her own clothes for the date, but she managed to grab his hand too by herself.

She's on the cover, but genuinely she's barely visible in the volume. I don't like her so that's good I guess?

Anna is disappointed in you. Just look at her expressions, you must apologize immediately!

The date ends, though, with an ominous proposal from Lemon asking Nukumizu to become a "go home club" member together with her and drop their current club activities. This is a big thing, considering how much she loves running, and it leaves Nukumizu in a bind, trying to understand what's going on.

Turns out Lemon is feeling the pressure from being the star athlete of the school and doesn't like how her presence "steals" positions from other students and their chance to reach the competition. It's normal, as the slots are limited, but I still understand her feelings. She proposes a match to Nukumizu; if he can defeat her (with some handicap, of course), she'll continue with the two clubs, but if he loses, he'll join her in not doing any club activity.

She didn't have a huge role in this volume, but my favorite Shikiya Yumeko was here too and she's just as hot as the last time I read a volume of this series.

From here begins the "training arc," with Nukumizu going through training with various other characters from all over the series to become fast enough to defeat Lemon. Yeah, he manages to, but he doesn't realize that he tripped and activated many flags on the way, and Lemon is clearly in love again even if she apparently will try to focus on sports first.

One way or another, the series seems to be leading toward creating another circle of heroines in love with someone and causing most of them to become "losing heroines." Ironic, isn't it? We have Anna, Chika, Lemon, and Tiara, who are pretty much confirmed to be interested in Nukumizu.

Saying that Hibari Houkobaru is beautiful is really an understatement. She's stunning. Go student council president!

Everything, of course, points at Anna being the one winning overall, but wouldn't it be hilarious if Anna loses again and becomes a two-time losing heroine? I would totally sign up for that and maybe let Chika win because she feels like the best fit for Nukumizu's personality.

For one reason or another, it's been three years since the last time I read a volume of this series, but honestly, it's still as good as I remember it to be. I'll continue to catch up, so I will make more posts as soon as I read more volumes in the near future.
