Today I completed the second season of Psycho-Pass by watching episodes 10 and 11. It was a satisfying end that left the story open enough for the movies and Season 3, which I am going to watch next. I was surprised by the fact that Mika Shimotsuki actually survived. I was certain she was a goner, but it looks like Sibyl wants someone more "cooperative" than Akane to manipulate.
It turns out that the true objective of Kirito Kamui from the start was to change the parameters of the Sibyl System to be able to judge a "Collective" Psycho-Pass. This forces the system to judge itself, resulting in a purge of the criminal brains within it as they had to be "executed" to maintain the system's logic.

However, this has a terrifying side effect. The system may now start to determine entire groups of people as "targets for execution" even if the individual entities within that group are clear. This could create total chaos in the current society that relies entirely on the system for law enforcement.
Togane and his mother both died at the hands of Kamui (that himself died from a dominator hit from Togane). Watching Togane die felt genuinely good because he really did a great job painting himself as unlikable as possible. Plus his facial expressions were hilariously "I'm so evil".

Akane's Hue remains clear despite all the events, to the point that the Sibyl System itself suggests (as a provocation) that she join them on the other side. I am honestly puzzled by how Akane can keep her control despite the horrific events that happen around her. I am curious if they will ever go into further detail about it or if they are simply going with the "she is just a very upstanding human" explanation.
Mika, as I mentioned earlier, is safe, but she is still extremely unstable after this episode. She is now in a position where she has to serve Sibyl, and she is totally not happy about it. She just wanted to build a career and put dirt on Akane; she didn't want to become the pawn of some monstrosity.

I am looking forward to starting the movies. I believe the correct watch order from here is The Movie -> Sinners of the System -> Season 3 -> First Inspector and finally Providence. This is going to be an interesting journey, but that is something for another day.
