Episodes 8 and 9 of Psycho-Pass Season 2 delivered a series of new revelations, some more surprising than others. They also kind of solidified the position of Mika Shimotsuki as someone who will likely die before the end of the series. She learned the true nature of the system, and since she isn't Akane, she can't survive for long.
The story continues with Mika investigating Sakuya Togane and discovering that his mother is the scientist who built Kirito Kamui in the first place. Kamui was the result of an experiment where they connected body parts from multiple individuals to create a single human, which is exactly what Kirito turned out to be.

This is also the reason why the Sibyl System is unable to detect him. Apparently, this composite nature makes him "not an individual" in the strictest sense. I am not sure I buy this, but I guess that is what the writers decided to go with this season. I still feel that the reasoning is weaker compared to the logic used for Makishima in the first season.
Togane is also the result of an experiment, but in his case, it was about creating a human artificially who possessed the same "Criminally Asymptomatic" condition as Makishima, making him invisible to Sibyl. This created what can basically be summarized as a psychopath, as he is completely obsessed with the idea of making other people's Psycho-Pass readings rise.

Togane's mother is also still alive, as she was integrated into the Sibyl System. This makes the system look even more absurd; it is basically a group of criminals having fun at the expense of society at large. While I think the specific individual brain (Togane's mother) will die this season, the system has to continue operating. Otherwise... well, there wouldn't be a Season 3 and the movies.
Mika got discovered anyway and is now under the control of Sibyl and Togane, only allowed to live as long as she is useful. They plan to make Akane go criminal, but I wonder if it will be that easy considering how she didn't move one bit despite what Makishima did right in front of her eyes.

Kirito is also going forward with his objective to deliver justice, but I wonder how he plans to actually do that. He doesn't know the truth of Sibyl as far as we know, so what is he trying to target in this case? The server room like Makishima did? That feels "repetitive", so I am wondering if the writers have something else in store for us.
My best prediction for the ending is Akane winning and keeping her Hue clear, while Togane and Mika die during the action (probably against Kirito). I suspect the Sibyl System will be substantially unaffected aside from the loss of one brain. Kougami at this point won't appear anymore, so he will likely be left for usage in the upcoming content.

I will go over the last two episodes in the coming days. Hopefully, they will deliver a great ending and a good connection to the movies and the third season.
