Sousou no Frieren Season 2 Ep.06 - Methode's reasoning is flawless!

Episode 6 of Sousou no Frieren Season 2 (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End) returns after a week-long break and delivers an interesting preparation episode. It reveals more of the personalities of two first-class mages, Genau and Methode. Both appeared during the First-Class Mage Exam arc in the previous season but have not been seen since.

The setting is a village that was recently attacked and destroyed by a demon. Genau and Methode are sent by Serie to investigate, which is especially significant since Genau is originally from this village. No survivors were found, and while Genau appears calm on the outside, he is boiling with rage internally.

Absolutely perfect! Just what other reason would you need for following her? Methode is totally right.

Next week Frieren is going to show why she's called the demon slayer. That's promising.

In fact, when Frieren arrived in the village, she initially mistook him for a demon because his mana was so turbulent. He always seems to be in control of his emotions externally, but it is a completely different story on the inside. We do not know much about his upbringing or why he ended up this way, however.

Methode, on the other hand, seems to have become a disciple of Serie mainly because she loves cute things, and Serie is indeed very small and cute. She even points out that Frieren is cute as well, which triggers significant jealousy in Fern and leads to her trademark adorable pouting face. Honestly, I can never get enough of watching a jealous Fern.

Sleeping Frieren is always extremely adorable. I'm curious about how it works this mail system, do they train the squirrels or are they magical creatures? View video page

While a destroyed village might be a normal occurrence in this world, this situation is different because it was being protected by warriors sent by a merchant company. The warriors guarding the village were extremely powerful, and Frieren noted that their captain was much stronger than even Stark.

Stark brushed this off with his usual attitude, but we all know that he once traded hits with a dragon without any issue. Despite the captain being even stronger than Stark, he fell in a single hit according to Methode's analysis. Both Stark and Methode agree that the enemy must have used four swords simultaneously, which suggests that the demon might have four arms. It is possible he is using some other unusual technique, but I doubt it given the nature of the series.

Fern ultra proud of turning her down. To show how much she loves Frieren. So cute together these two.

Quite a strong warrior too apparently, makes sense considering the enemy we're facing this time.

The next episode is titled "The Divine Revolte". Judging by the voices in the preview, this will be the first time we see a demon general in action. This feels like it will be the first encounter with a truly formidable enemy for Stark and Fern. However, with Frieren, Methode, and Genau on the field, I wonder how much of a threat the general will actually be able to pose.
