Star Rail 4.2 Story - Silver Wolf is so adorable. Wait, an Aeon is...

Patch 4.2 of Honkai: Star Rail turned out to be way more exciting than I expected. I've genuinely been slacking, focused on other things these past few weeks, but I realize I made a mistake in waiting to play this game's story, because it was downright amazing and the best patch of this new 4.x series so far.

First of all, Silver Wolf (Level 999, Emanator of Elation)—she was as cool as I expected, going face-to-face with an Emanator of Destruction named Asat Pramad. She got quite a fair amount of screen time, and I liked seeing some backstory building for her relationship with the other Stellaron Hunters. I'm sure her role isn't over yet, considering what is brewing below the surface of the planet.

Then we got Evanescia, who turned out to be another Emanator, this time of Abundance. She had her real self sealed on the planet by Aha in a contract to protect the Phantasmoon Games and keep the secret from being revealed about what they were exactly built for. I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of her overall, but she's still a good character. Maybe the otaku vibe is a bit too strong for my taste, I guess.

Two emanators face to face, even though they didn't really fight much. it was too early for Silver Wolf to face one of the big bad of this chapter.

While I said I don't totally like Evanescia character, the design is great, the artist of Star Rail continues to be the best among the Hoyoverse ones

Stelle, after being gazed upon by Aha, was also a nice scene; the design emanates manic energy, which fits my image of her character perfectly. I haven't tested her out in battle yet, but I'm sure she'll work great in the Elation battleship. Honestly, so many characters and so little F2P choice for Light Cones (I don't roll for limited Light Cones).

And then we get to the revelation: it seems like the remains of the Aeon Oroboros (Voracity) are sealed inside Ahatopia, and the games are all a way to keep them sealed. The IPC seems to be targeting them, and I guess Asat Pramad wants to use them as a way to bring ruin to Aha, as it is the original target for him.

The final revelation, as expected Pearl and the IPC can't be trusted. How surprising not. It's like most of the universe troubles are coming from the IPC.

Honestly? Silver wolf is way hotter in this simple scene that she's normally. Like it gives off that "at home" feeling.

Does this mean we get to fight a revived Aeon this time around, or will they manage to stop it before it manages to fully revive and become a sort of "semi-Aeon" fight, like with Sunday at the end of Penacony? It won't be easy to replicate the epicness of the fight against Irontomb, so I wonder what they'll do.

I still don't know what Aha meant by saying that the victor of the games will become the new Aeon of Elation, to be honest. Unless it's some sort of joke and he is the one winning them and he self-crowns himself in a hilarious final scene. It would be in character, but I wonder if they would do that.
