Tai-Ari deshita. Ojousama wa Kakutou Game nante Shinai Ep.06 - Straight hair Mio!

Episode 6 of Tai-Ari deshita: Ojousama wa Kakutou Game nante Shinai continues the "Japan Evo" arc by introducing the major players of this competition and showing the result of the first match, which ends in Mio's unexpected defeat due to being too stressed during the match.

Honestly, I was leaning toward Tamaki being the first to lose, but I guess making Mio lose immediately with no consequence (there's a second match) is a good way to show that she's still just a young girl and that such a big stage puts too much pressure on her. Of course, she'll recover next week and head toward the finals.

Imagine being so pumped about winning the competition and you lose the very first match. Being Mio is suffering...

What a mesugaki Arisa Fujimiya is. Honestly can't wait to see her defeated by Aya! She needs a bit of education toward elders!

It also worked as a way to show some skinship between Yuu and Mio too. After losing, Yuu was quick to help her recover by joking and acting like Honda from Street Fighter doing the hundred hand slap skill. Usually, we see Mio paired with Aya, so it was refreshing.

We also see Fujimiya Arisa in action for the first time, talking to Aya and the others. She's a perfect example of a mesugaki, self-centered, proud, and childish, and positions herself as a rival for Mio and Aya in the upcoming competition. I guess defeating her will be the biggest objective, considering how strong she is?

Mio also changed her hairstyle in this episode because she forgot to adjust it before leaving the hotel. She looks a few years younger than she is with long, straight hair, though I'm not sure which of the two versions I like the most. Both are really stunning, so it's hard to pick one.

Oh, and there was some screen time dedicated to the minor characters Gekido, Cecil, and a few other males appearing as rivals in this competition. Honestly, they are forgettable, though, because the series is clearly centered around the girls, and they work at best as stepping stones on the way to victory.

Straight hair Mio is a bomb by herself, she looks like way younger than she is just by changing her hair style. Amazing.

Next week, the championship will get intense with all the real matches happening. I expect things to heat up and some of our heroines to be eliminated. Aya and Mio are likely to go through until the latter stages of the competition, but will they actually win? And if they do, will Mio be discovered by her mom?
