Tai-Ari deshita. Ojousama wa Kakutou Game nante Shinai Ep.05 - That Guile is cute...

Episode 5 of Tai-Ari deshita: Ojousama wa Kakutou Game nante Shinai begins, after the brief reveal last week, the "Japan Evo" competition arc, with the girls preparing and then traveling to Tokyo to take part in the competition. The first step is to try and get authorization to go there.

That's where the first hurdle was, because Mio had to convince her mother, and she's utterly terrified of her. The girls decide to go through with the "it's just for sightseeing" lie, and they all go visit the mother. The approval arrives, but the real question I have is more about the level of risk they're running.

Apparently Arisa is going to be one of the adorable opponents that our group will have to face in the competition

I keep liking Tamaki more and more with each passing episode. She has good interactions with Yuu too and the yuri glasses activate...

Japan Evo is, of course, going to be streamed online and maybe advertised on various sites. What will happen if Mio really reaches the finals and her face appears in multiple online newspapers? Mom might watch and have a lot of questions to ask her daughter, maybe over a wrestling session or two.

But that's something for later, I guess. We also got some bonding scenes between Tamaki and Yuu, showing how Yuu saw her while they were both working as dormitory managers and how that impression has changed now. The show is not even hiding that they're paired together at this point.

Of course, competition means new characters, and we already have three new faces appearing in the cast. One is a yankee-looking male named Gekido, one is a more host-like male named Cecil, and then the big surprise is that we have a small child named Arisa appearing, too.

Now, it wasn't mentioned in the anime, but I had a quick look at her bio and noticed she's named Fujimiya Arisa, which is the same surname as Fujimiya Morino, the student council president of the school. Are we going to discover that everyone in the school is actually playing fighting games?!

Remember to always feed your Natsume and she might grow to be as beautiful as in this picture! It's up to you really!

Imagine arriving at a new location after traveling and the first thing they do is preparing the PC and keyboard to play...truly the best kind of gamers!

The next episode will probably have the girls fighting their first matches as well as introducing the whole competition system. I'm totally ignorant about these things, so it'll be nice to see what kind of rules they use. Who will get eliminated first? I'm guessing Mio and Aya will stay until late, but Yuu and Tamaki...
