Tai-Ari deshita. Ojousama wa Kakutou Game nante Shinai Ep.07 - Arisa vs Mio?!

Episode 7 of Tai-Ari deshita: Ojousama wa Kakutou Game nante Shinai completes the first round of matches in the Japan Evo with victory for all four heroines while also consolidating the outline of what's going to happen and who the opponents they'll face are in the next few weeks.

First of all, we have Aya, who seems to be paired to face the powerful yankee Gekido in the second round of matches and, honestly, facing him so early means it's likely he'll be defeated and befriended. I don't think they want to stay around focusing on the guys for too long.

The yuri power of Yuu protecting Tamaki as her wife. Honestly everything was coordinated so perfectly it was hard to not be in awe.

Lots of focus on how Yuu made Tamaki relax from the confrontation by holding her hand tight. The couples are really starting to be real.

The second matchup is Mio with Arisa; the two have pretty much an open declaration of war, and it's inevitable that the two will fight. Arisa losing might give us more insight about who that girl she fought with was and what the reason was. We saw it was in front of a Street Fighter screen, but surely they couldn't have fought over that right?!

The most interesting part is, however, the third matchup, which puts Tamaki at odds with her older sister Ichinose Hana. Tamaki clearly has an inferiority complex toward her sister and is completely frozen when faced with her. Yuu jumped to the rescue and delivered the most impactful yuri scene of the series so far by taking her hand and standing in the middle to protect her.

Wait, are they really going to fight in real life too? Like Mio actually got her cheek injured by Arisa. Never underestimated mesugaki I guess? View video page

I mentioned it in the past, but Tamaki is the girl whom I somehow end up liking the most in the cast because she's the only one actually trying to balance her being a girl in an ojou-sama school with her fighting game passion. This makes her quite vulnerable to external influence, but fret not because Yuu is there to protect her!

By the way, this marks the sixth girl in the school who is actually a heavy fighting game player. Are we sure the school wasn't established as a secret place to train girls in the virtual martial arts? Joking aside, I'm curious how they're going to face each other once back at the dormitory given the implications...

Mio's absolutely adorable face when she wins her first match against an NPC. That's the face of joy and she can't hide it simply!

What happened to Arisa in the past with this girl to cause her to become such a mesugaki? Will we know next week or the week after?!

Next episode we'll see the match between Gekido and Aya, and I'm honestly wondering if the competition will go on until the end of the season because there are way too many plot threads to follow for them to be resolved anytime soon. Maybe just one last episode back at the school at the end to show the "return to normal", I guess?
