Episode 3 of Tai-Ari deshita: Ojousama wa Kakutou Game nante Shinai continues, as expected, with the introduction of the second batch of heroines who will populate the fighting game nights. Given the secrecy of the operation, the best way to reveal them was to expose Mio and Aya, prompting them to join the fun.

The first is Inui Yuu, a playful girl who didn't seem particularly attached to the dorm rules and immediately became an ally. The second is Ichinose Tamaki, who is far more proud and cautious, avoiding revealing her identity until Mio challenged her by asking, "Are you running away?"

Just how adorable can Tamaki be? Just look at that pouting/crying face she makes after losing. Can I head pat her already? Please?

Plus Tamaki looks good in general? She hasn't the angelic face of Mio, but I like the overall character design more.

Considering their rooms are next to each other, Tamaki and Yuu are clearly the second yuri couple of the series, but honestly, it’s Tamaki who is incredibly entertaining. The gap between the stern, strict upperclassman and the crying, pouting girl defeated by Mio is exceptional.

In every scene she appears in, she leans into that gap moe, and honestly, it felt like the entire episode was more about her than Yuu. She isn’t going to stay a loser, though; she is asking for tips, learning new tactics, and will eventually strike back at Mio, creating more rivalry within the group.

Tamaki doing that face was hilarious, I knew in that instant that she was going to become ultra adorable once defeated. Honestly loving her way too much! View video page

Now that the group has a safe place to game without the risk of being discovered, things should run more smoothly, even though there are still some unknown elements, mainly the student council president, Morino Fujimiya, because she looks too detailed to be used merely as a background character.

That completes the main cast of the series, as these four are the only ones labeled as "main." It will now focus on how the relationships among these four girls evolve over the remaining episodes. There's plenty of room for development here, both on the yuri and the gaming sides.

Mio continues to be the center of the comedy though, she's completely unaware of any restriction when it comes about fighting games. Truly a pure gamer!

Discovered by Tamaki at the worst possible moment! By the way Aya, that shirt is kind of lame to be honest, did you choose it yourself?!

I would love for them to go outside the school to participate in a local tournament or something similar and meet other like-minded people. I've looked at the character list and noticed a bunch of strange male characters; I wonder how they connect to this story...
