Wuthering Waves 3.3 Part 1 Story - That was it? Kind of disappointing

I finally got around to playing the Wuthering Waves Patch 3.3 Part 1 story, and honestly, I wasn't that impressed, considering the buildup they prepared up to now. Recovering Aemeath and fighting Aleph-1 was supposed to be the "final" moment of Lahai-Roi, and honestly, it felt like everything went way too smoothly.

I know the game has a habit of following these patterns, but here it felt even more streamlined than usual. It was a continuous cycle: go to place one, do one thing, move to place two, and repeat. The biggest offender was clearly the three runes: was there really a need for us to be there?

Mother and daughter are back together and ready to strike. Rover and Aemeath also share the same fashion sense looking at the little cloth they wear.

When you really stand out in your group. Lucilla is screaming 'playable' and we got the confirmation about it just today.

I think they wanted to imitate the minigames we saw in other games from the Hoyoverse sphere regarding aligning runes to the vision, but the hilarious part is that they didn't even do the whole alignment mechanic and just had a single rune to position in the right place, which destroyed the entire minigame aspect altogether.

Hiyuki herself dropped many lore crumbs but never elaborated on any of them. Ashinohara is lost? What about the eternal miko? Her relationship with Fractsidus? Lots of hints were left around, but will they lead to any explanation at some point? Who knows! Certainly not us, considering they didn't give us any real info.

And now we got a cassette too, what's the next item Rover will recover on her journey?

Beautiful art even if the development was ultra cheesy even by Wuthering Waves standards.

I feel, hilariously, the enigmatic cross-dresser Grand Architect delivered more solid revelations by telling us that they are very close to having a fully workable artificial Threnodian Resonator. Denia was the last piece, and it worked out well enough; now the next stage is set for the real deal.

The next stage is set in the New Federation, with the Grand Architect name-dropping "Eris," a mysterious overseer and close associate of the Grand Architect who is currently working in the New Federation. We don't know much about her or him (considering Eris is a codename), but for sure, they will become the antagonist for a good chunk of the next area of Wuthering Waves.

Gundam! Well, it's close enough at least. The initial segment was pretty nice, the battle could've used some more tuning.

Our cutest beautiful girl Grand Architect. I wonder what's the real form. The mask implies it has to be important...*stares at Yangyang*

I don't want to be completely negative, though; I can say that the mecha battle was fun, and I wish there were more variety in the attacks we could perform with the Exostrider. Oh, and seeing Aemeath back was nice, but the lack of a more emotional reunion, where Rover hugs her and tells her that she's proud of her, was a sad miss.

Now, I guess we wait a bit until they release Part 2 of the patch. The focus will almost surely shift to the now-human Denia and her relationship with Sigrika. There is going to be some friction as Denia will feel like she betrayed her friend. Nothing that can't be fixed with the power of yuri, I'm sure.
