Wuthering Waves 3.4 Lucilla Segue - That was really adorable. For the future!
Wuthering Waves 3.4 has been released, featuring the Cyberpunk collab and a small segue event that closes out the remaining threads of the Startorch Academy before we move on to new locations and characters. The story focuses entirely on Lucilla, playing out like a typical companion story.
Now that the Exostrider is gone and the threat of Aleph-1 has subsided, the students who were once the pillars of the academy, due to their aptitude as pilots for the device, are suddenly considered useless, with the entire department facing closure. Lucilla opposed this, viewing them as a resource for the future of humanity, which put her at odds with the Spacetrek Collective.

Black Shores and Rover come to the rescue, of course, though thankfully, it was something Lucilla managed to achieve alone without too much help. She proved that the students have value in continuing their studies and guaranteed autonomy for the faculty.
Honestly, the scene where all the students stood up to prove they are ready for the risks of another incident to advance the study of the starships was emotional, and I nearly shed a tear. I'm a sucker for these kinds of cheesy emotional scenes, and Lucilla's JP voice actor did a great job delivering those lines.

This segue story has been one of the best we've received in this patch cycle, alongside the Denya story; it turned an otherwise lackluster patch into something great. The patch focus was, of course, on the Cyberpunk collab, and I have no trouble saying that they put a lot of effort into it.
Unfortunately, the story was written primarily for those who watched the anime, so it fell a bit flat for me as I only played the game. It was nice to fight Adam Smasher, though, and to see another rendition of Night City. The new game in the Cyberpunk series cannot come soon enough.

Now that we are only a few days away from the new patch release, I'm excited to see what they have ready for us. Yangyang looks stunning in her new costume, and while I'm wary of this being a "China-themed" area, I'm also excited for them to break the curse of China-themed regions always being a borefest. Let's see how it plays out.
