Yumene Connect Vol 5,6 - Unika is just perfect! What planet is that?!
Volumes 5 and 6 of Yumene Connect continue from where we left it with Unika Landmark, the vice captain of the space police arriving to capture the protagonist. Yes, it didn't take more than a few panels for her to be involved in an escalating chain of unfortunate events leading to ecchi mishaps.
Add on top of that the eccentric Nano, who is Unika's childhood friend, and you have an explosive combination. The end result? Yuuhi and Unika get their souls switched and are forced to become friends to recover control over their bodies. You know it's the classic way to make two characters get to know each other by forcing them into a situation that requires them to cooperate.

Honestly, I LOVED this arc because it showed Unika starting as a bossy, serious policewoman and ending up as a lovestruck tsundere girl who started living in Yuuhi's house as a way to stay close to him and maybe make him fall in love with her. Of course, under the pretense of "monitoring" him as a policewoman.
Among the other scenes, we have Jun fretting about the many girls around Yuuhi and starting to get more assertive. While Unika certainly wins when it comes to entertainment, I think Jun is the best heroine when it comes down to who Yuuhi should go out with. I think she'd be a great girlfriend!

Yuuhi's older sister Koharu continues to be an amazing supporting character, using her knowledge to trigger the girls into being more direct with Yuuhi, like she did with Jun in these volumes. Sometimes things get way too hot even for her, but she doesn't mind as long as Yuuhi is having fun.
My updated ranking for the heroines is Unika=Jun>Momoka>Kana>Kaoru=Koharu>Fumino=Nano. Unika jumped right to the top with the volume dedicated to her, without being able to deter Jun. Momoka took the backseat this time with only a few scenes dedicated to her, but I'm sure she's going to fight back soon.

Next episode will continue the adventures of our characters on the hentai planet. They need to retrieve a seed for Nano's boss, and while there is no risk for their lives, the risk posed by the depraved monsters is quite high. Unika seems to have a plan, but I'm sure it won't work well; otherwise, we wouldn't get our ecchi scenes. You know who I am cheering for, right?
