Yuusha Party ni Kawaii Ko ga Ita no de, Kokuhaku Shitemita Ep.08 - Sirens are cute! Happiness!
Episode 8 of the anime series Yuusha Party ni Kawaii Ko ga Ita no de, Kokuhaku Shitemita (I Confessed to the Adorable Girl in the Hero's Party) is a Happiness-centered episode focused on the growing relationship between her and the Knight Captain, Raven.
This development unfolds during a quest taken by Youki near the ocean. His original idea was to invite Cecilia, hoping to see her in a swimsuit, but she was busy with official paperwork. Consequently, he was forced to go with Happiness and Raven, acting as something of a third wheel.

The quest involves a mysterious disappearance of goods from the port, which everyone suspects is linked to demon activity. The group finds a Siren named Shike who is supposedly the cause. However, aside from an initial attack, she simply seems worried about her partner, who has been kidnapped by humans.
Raven immediately tries to kill her without considering a compromise, but Happiness’s intervention manages to cool his head, though not before he points a sword at her as well. This leads the group to realize that the sailors were the real culprits, having forced the sirens to work for them and take the blame.
Raven goes on a spree to defeat the sailors, and the other siren, Misaki, is freed and reunited with her partner. They thank the group and head back to the sea, but not before leaving a kiss on Raven’s cheek. This triggers Happiness’s jealousy, leading her to kiss him on the mouth instead.
While the episode tried to resolve the conflict with Raven understanding what he did wrong, I still feel the writers took a cheap way out of the issue. It does not change the fact that he pointed a sword toward the person he supposedly loves without any hesitation. That is absolutely unacceptable in my book, especially from someone who is meant to be a hero.

Overall, it was a generic episode that tried to provide closure for the romance between the two. With the kiss, I do not think there is any ambiguity left in their relationship; they are now a couple. While I feel this was better than the previous chaotic Valentine’s Day episode, the series continues to have glaring issues with storytelling and animation that make it difficult to fully enjoy the character development.
What will be the focus of next week’s episode? Will it be the romantic relationship between Mikana and Hero Yuuga, or perhaps Duke and Irene? I feel it is still too early for Cecilia’s turn, as she is the main heroine and will likely be the focus of the final story arc of this first season.
